Learning in America after the 10th grade
After completing the 10th grade, it makes sense to enter the Advanced Placement program (or AP, as it is often called in the information booklets). Education at AP lasts 2 years, 11-12 class, and allows you to effectively prepare for entering the university, profiling and thoroughly studying selected disciplines. In order to pick up items for the AP program, you need to carefully read the requirements of the university for your chosen specialty or faculty - keep in mind that the set of items at the AP level in each school is different.
If you are considering studying at a university not only in USA, but also in other countries, it makes sense to choose the program International Baccalaureate (IB): it is recognized worldwide and accepted by all universities. Apply for IB is necessary after the 10th grade of secondary school (at the age of 16), and the duration of the course is 2 years.
Studying in the United States after the 11th grade
After studying at the school of 11 classes and having obtained a certificate of secondary education, you can enter the program Pathway and continue education in America. If the Pathway program is successfully completed, the student can be automatically enrolled in the American University (sometimes for the second year): for this it is necessary to successfully pass a language test, examinations in core subjects and demonstrate a high level of knowledge in priority academic disciplines, an interest in obtaining a profession and qualification.
