Education information

Wales is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom. The country is famous for its beautiful coastline and mountains, lively cities and beautiful villages. If you study English in Wales, the foreign students will never be far from history: there are more castles per square mile in Wales than in any other country in Europe!

Due to the presence of three national parks, it is a popular place for outdoor activities, including hiking, surfing, rafting, horseback riding and rock climbing. Wales has a strong local culture and history, Welsh is still spoken along with English by 19% of Welsh residents.

Belonging to the United Kingdom did not prevent Wales from preserving its national identity. There are two official languages in the country, and English can be heard everywhere, but Welsh is no less popular. In Welsh villages, sometimes they don't even know English, and in developed Cardiff, melodic Welsh can be heard on the streets and restaurants. A rare example when the oldest language is actively used and developed! But as for the language of instruction, most of the local population studies in English – only 15% of Welsh people study in their native language.
