Usually it's about 10-20% of tuition fees, but there are also scholarships and grants with a larger coverage amount.

• Cornell University

A private university was opened in 1965, but despite its relative youth, it is considered one of the best legal and medical universities in the USA. • Columbia University

One of the best universities in New York, the fifth oldest American university, founded in 1754. Private, managed on the basis of a charter, the latest edition of which was approved a century and a half ago. It ranks high at 23rd place in the QS ranking. It has seen incredible events, brilliant scientists, talented teachers and all types of students imaginable! Admission requirements here are among the highest, as is the cost of education.

• New York University

Founded in 1831, another private university. It became famous for its humanitarian profile: master's and doctoral programs in sociology, psychology, art and history are considered among the best in the world, in addition, diplomas and degrees in dentistry and nursing are highly valued. A total of over 400 programs of various levels are offered here.

A true Babylon, New York University has brought together students from 117 countries under its roof. It is understandable: it ranks 38th in the QS ranking, which in itself is worth a lot.

• Stony Brook University

In the spacious campus of this university founded in 1957 (396th place in QS), more than 200 programs are offered for training bachelors and masters. The strongest direction here is research, priority programs — medicine, pharmaceuticals and biochemistry, bioengineering. MBA programs and 11 other programs are also offered, mainly technical and natural sciences.

• City University of New York

First opened in 1946, moved to a new spacious campus of eight buildings with a modern stadium and many other facilities necessary for a modern university in the late 60s. The student support service here — is one of the best in the state: along with computer rental, psychological assistance and other necessities, tutoring services are offered, including free ones for a number of subjects.

The university ranks 545th in the QS ranking and at the same time offers quite affordable bachelor's programs — on average, it is about $16-18 thousand per year.

• The New School

Founded in 1919, it offers over a hundred undergraduate and postgraduate programs in marketing, business and finance, as well as a number of humanities and social sciences, art, music, theater and design. It demonstrates a value-based approach and commitment to sustainable development goals, a high level of teaching, which allowed it to rank 641-650th place in the world ranking of new universities in 2024 according to QS.

• Fordham University

Three magnificent campuses of this remarkable university — historical and two new ones built in the second half of the XX century — offer excellent opportunities for students: a chic library, medical and sports center, stadium, Olympic-sized swimming pool, dining halls and cafeterias, as well as — which is quite rare for universities in New York — residences on campus. Despite the fact that Fordham was founded in 1841, its administration demonstrates a progressive approach and willingly masters everything new, which allowed it to be included in the group 1001-1200 in the QS ranking.

• City College of New York

Offers a modern and fairly liberal approach to education, although it was founded more than one and a half centuries ago, in 1847. Historically established itself as a forge of creative, progressive personnel: dozens of its graduates have been awarded the Nobel Prize, Fields Medal, Pulitzer Prize and other awards in the field of exact and humanities sciences.
