Canada has decided to seriously strengthen its position in the global market of science and innovation: a specially created fund of CAD$1.7 billion will be used to invite 1,000 outstanding foreign researchers and bring home talented Canadians working abroad. The Global Impact+ Research Talent Initiative program provides for the creation of new research positions, support for young scientists and improvement of university infrastructure, is aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Canadian science and medicine, developing important areas such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, quantum technologies and cybersecurity.
This initiative has already been recognized as one of the largest talent attraction programs in the world.
