From September, the limit on the amount that must be in the applicant's account for a Canadian student visa will increase: the amount of money required for a positive decision of the commission is calculated in Canadian dollars, and the minimum requirement has increased from 20,635 to 22,895. This will confirm that an applicant from another country already has enough money for tuition, accommodation, and transport at the start.
The jump in the amount did not happen abruptly - it was part of a global phased plan, which the country's government announced at the end of 2023. The increase was a forced measure, it corresponds to the level of general inflation in the country.
If relatives of a foreigner come to Canada with him, then the starting amount will be increased additionally.
