American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) is the first American educational institution specializing in the study of English and the humanities in Eastern Europe, a unique joint venture created with the support of the governments of the USA and Bulgaria, the Open Society Institute and the University of Maine. AUBG offers undergraduate programs in the humanities and awards a Bachelor of Arts (BA). The university invites Bulgarian and foreign students to the Executive MBA program at the Elieff Center for Culture and Education in Sofia.
American University in Bulgaria is a private, non-profit institution funded from independent sources (tuition, private donations, grants). It opened its doors in September 1991: then there were trained 208 students and 16 full-time teachers.
The university is located in the vibrant city of Blagoevgrad in southwestern Bulgaria - over the years it has become a space of academic research, creativity and cultural diversity. Currently, about 1,100 students from more than 40 countries are gathering together to live and study in a supportive and safe community, to receive a first-class American humanitarian education.
Accommodation, meals, prices
The residences of American University in Bulgaria Skaptopara became the first student dormitories in Bulgaria. They serve as a temporary home for 900 students who are accommodated in double, triple rooms and studios. A strong supportive community has been created here: residences are a place for growth and development through extracurricular activities and facilities.

Activities American University in Bulgaria
Each semester, students take part in recreational and recreational activities: watching films and discussing them with professors, dance projects, sports and much more. Applicants present TOEFL results, a certificate of school education, are interviewed. The official TOEFL result must be sent by the ETS to the AUBG Admissions Office. Requirements for test results:
