At what age do foreign students usually enter schools in Austria?

We mainly accept children 13-15 years old (grades 8-9), but admission is open to other levels as well. Many parents are afraid that their children are still small and immature to enroll at the age of 12, so they prefer to complete the main course of high school - and only then apply. On average, students at AIS-Salzburg study for 3.75 years.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students are offered accommodation in a residence on campus. Students live in 2-3-bed rooms with private facilities. Also in the residence there are single rooms for high school students. In general, there are a kitchen, rest rooms, laundry.

Meals in the school are organized according to full board scheme. The dining room offers a wide choice of dishes of European and American cuisine. On an individual basis, it is possible to organize a vegetarian diet.

We applied to this school on the recommendation of acquaintances. We really liked the school's location, and we were specifically looking for a school with an American program because our child dreamed of getting into an American university. The school, in principle, met our expectations. The level of education they provide is good, but not outstanding. The living conditions are decent. Since this was the only option with boarding and an American program, we didn't really compare prices with other schools, and when we casually decided to look at similar options in Austria, we were pleasantly surprised that our school was reasonably priced. Sasha has one more year of study. He's already working very actively on preparing for university admission. I hope everything works out for us!

American International is a good and probably the only boarding school option in Austria where you can study in an American High School program. When we first went there, we weren't particularly impressed with the living conditions: the school clearly needed major renovations. However, in recent years, the school has managed to address these issues and fix the accommodation shortcomings. They've also started offering more extracurricular activities and sports. We're glad we ended up choosing this school. The level of education here is really good.

My sons studied at this school from grades 10 to 12. Before enrolling, with the help of the Smart Products and Services agency, we were able to arrange a school visit and a personal meeting with the headmaster. The school has an excellent location. We really liked Salzburg itself, a beautiful, stunning city with the cleanest air and an amazing fortress on the mountain. From the school grounds, you can admire the mountains. A calm and inspiring place. As for the school itself, the level of education here is decent, but nothing exceptional to expect. The school has a fairly reasonable price compared to similar options in Austria. In my opinion, for this price, the school offers a quite respectable level of teaching and accommodation. The main thing in a school is still a decent level of education and a comfortable environment for the child. They can provide that here.
