What's cool about an American school?

Individual assignments, mixing classes, “dating” the teacher, and fundraising instead of levies - American schools are not like ours. In the United States, children will have to study in several schools: elementary, middle and high school. But here such a division is not arbitrary: each school is located in a separate building and has its own leadership. And this is just a small part of the differences! Let's try to figure out what is cool in an American school, but in ours it is considered unusual.

Lack of compulsory school uniforms

American educational institutions are not forced to wear a school uniform. The main condition is convenience and comfort, so most students prefer a sporty style. This does not apply to private privileged educational institutions, where the form is just strict.

Physical education is one of the main subjects

Every American school has a wide variety of sports sections. Being a member of a soccer or basketball team is not only cool, but also promising.

Friendly relations with the director and teachers

You can often see how the director greets the students with a smile on the doorstep of the school, directs the movement of approaching school buses. In case of problems, you can easily call the director even at inopportune hours. With teachers, it's just as easy: it's cool to hug the teacher or help her clean up her inventory after class. The teacher can play ball or sing songs with the students, but raising his voice and scolding children is not at all cool.

Grades and homework are not important

In America, parents and students do not focus on grades and perfect homework. It is important that the child be happy, and not sit all his time at his desk, attend school with pleasure and take an active part in school life.

A lot of books

Despite the many modern gadgets, in American schools it is considered cool to read, go to the library and advise classmates on books.

The ability to notice your mistakes

Nobody will scold for the mistakes of an American student. The main thing is to learn to recognize them, correct them and try again.
