The Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) is a private university of engineering and engineering in Massachusetts.  The institution was opened as a school of mechanical arts in 1904 with donated funds from Arioja Wentworth. Since 2009, Wentworth has become an institution awarding a master's degree with full accreditation of programs, and in 2017 received university status.

At the moment, WIT implements more than 20 bachelor's programs, about 13 master's degrees. In 2018, 4561 students studied at the university, most of whom are men. The teaching staff is represented by 130 highly qualified specialists in various fields.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Residential complexes divide students according to the level of education.

For freshmen, there are several housing options with a semester price:

  • Baker Hall: hostels for $ 6060.
  • Evans Way/Tudbury: suites with multiple bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room – $5773-$6745.
  • LEAP Residential Communities: Five buildings for leaders, sustainability communities, athletes, and wellness enthusiasts.

All buildings have amenities such as self-study rooms, laundry rooms, recreation areas.

For those who study in senior courses, suites are prepared in several buildings with a cost per semester:

  • 555 Huntington Avenue: 4-9-bed suites with single, double and triple rooms with a shared living room, bathroom, kitchen – $ 6863-7540.
  • 610 Huntington Avenue: Double 4-6 Suites with Common Seating Area, Bathroom and Kitchen – $7120.
  • Apartment 525: apartments for 4-5 people with single or double beds, common areas: living room, kitchen, bathroom, laundry – 7223-7692$.

  • Platinum: Unlimited meals, 150 DB points – $2950.
  • Gold: 225 set meals, 500 DB points – $2450.
  • Silver: 175 set meals, 700 DB points – $2150.

Partial plans that require a semester fee:

  • Ruby: 1000 DB points for $1000.
  • Emerald: 500 DB points for $500.

There are also meal plans in the summer hostel:

  • Summer A: 850 DB points for $850.
  • Summer B: 450 DB points for $450.

DB points can be used in cafes, cafeterias on campus, Beatty Hall, Mass College of Art.

Activities Wentworth Institute of Technology

WIT sports teams play in intercollegiate, regional competitions under the nickname "Leopards".The institution is a member of the NCAA Division III, participates in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

The Student Life Center operates on campus, providing support to students, involving them in activities, resolving housing and academic issues.

Facilities and equipment at Wentworth Institute of Technology

The campus is located in Boston's Fenway neighborhood of 31 acres. Within walking distance of the academic buildings are cultural, educational and sports centers – access to the most innovative and fastest growing companies in the Northeast.

On the campus there are 15 buildings of administrative offices and faculties, which have:

WIT is a member of the Colleges of the Fenway consortium, which gives its students the opportunity to use the infrastructure of universities and partner organizations at no additional cost.

Admission dates and extra charges

The academic year is divided into semesters:

  • Autumn: September-December
  • Spring: January-May
  • Summer: May-August.

The choice of the program depends on the form of study: full-time, online or combined, as well as the duration of training, the number of semesters and classes per week. During each semester there are holidays, weekends.

The requirements for local applicants are almost the same, with the exception of certification of language knowledge.

You can apply during the year, enrollment will occur at the beginning of the next semester.
