New American laws never cease to amaze and sometimes even frighten the local community. For example, US colleges froze in anticipation of President Donald Trump signing a bill to suspend funding for some federal programs. Fortunately for colleges, a U.S. court temporarily blocked the president's decision.
Donald Trump's main goal in this bill was to reduce funding for grant and scholarship programs that are aimed at supporting exchange students. For U.S. colleges, the loss of funding for these areas is tantamount to a deterioration in international partnerships with hundreds of other universities around the world. In addition, representatives of the education sector are worried that such changes will remove the developments of scientists in the United States of America from the pedestal of honor leaders in the industry.
The final court verdict will be issued in the near future.
