Toulouse School of Economics L'école d'économie de Toulouse (TSE)

In the public educational institution of France Toulouse School of Economics (TSE), the main focus is the economy. Functioning of the Toulouse school began in 2007. Territorially the building of the university is located in the city of Toulouse.

Currently, about 2,400 students from more than 90 countries are studying at the school, for which almost 150 specialists with advanced degrees work. Classes are held in both French and English. Tuition is about 1000 US dollars per year.

Researchers at the Toulouse School have established strong relationships with various international corporations and other institutions. They are actively involved in policy development in France (Council of Economic Advisers of France), as well as in various organizations in Europe (European Commission).

TSE's education is based on a scientific approach: observation, experiments, statistics, and advanced quantitative methods. Interdisciplinary courses are devoted to economics, working with data, and quantitative decision-making methods. In research courses, students learn to apply modern theories and methods to the tasks they will face at work.

On the Moodle platform, students communicate with instructors and work in groups.

TSE, together with Toulouse Capitole University, provides individual support to students with disabilities.

• The Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse (IAST) operates as an interdisciplinary research unit and brings together anthropology, biology, economics, history, law, mathematics, philosophy, political science, psychology, and sociology.

TSE is among the top three recipients of European Research Council grants in economics. According to the school, ten TSE researchers receive funding from the council.

In 2014, Jean Tirole received the Nobel Prize in Economics.

More than 45% of TSE students and 30% of faculty come from other countries.

80 nationalities are represented on campus.

TSE has student organizations:

• Bureau des élèves helps students meet and socialize, and organizes parties, weekend trips, and longer journeys,
• students publish the TSEconomist magazine, where researchers, alumni, and TSE students discuss social issues,
• Say it aloud TSE holds student debates and conferences,
• BDS organizes sports events.

Despite such a short functioning, this higher school entered the TOP 30 best educational institutions in the country, currently occupying the 27th position. Among international educational institutions stands at 646 place. According to RePEc, the institution took the 10th place among the most productive research departments in the world. A strong direction of training is the "Economy and Business".

• TSE does not charge an application fee.

• The Jean-Jacques Laffont Foundation annually awards one or several grants of 5,000 euros to students admitted to TSE master's programs, based on merit and academic performance,
• TSE scholarships for students admitted to the M2 ETE track in the economics doctoral pathway range from 8,000 to 12,000 euros, no separate application is required,
• research scholarships from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research are awarded to the best international students after the second year of the research master's program: 1,300 euros per month for three years,
• TSE annually exempts several students in international master's programs from the additional fee of 5,500 euros, based on academic performance and social or geographic circumstances. The exemption does not apply to registration fees or the CVEC contribution.
