The first modern medical center in Iran was founded in 1851, it was part of the Institute of Higher Education (Dar-ol-Fonon). The Faculty of Medicine was founded as part of the University of Tehran in 1934, and since 1986 all schools of the University of Tehran specializing in medical fields continue their activities independently as the Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services.

TUMS is the oldest, most famous medical center in Iran. TUMS is one of the country's leading research universities, accepting applications from the most qualified students, has the largest schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, rehabilitation, related medical sciences, public health, advanced medical technology, dietetics, nursing, obstetrics, as well as a virtual school. On the basis of the university there are more than a hundred specialized research centers studying technologies in medicine, rheumatology, auditory diseases, diseases of the digestive system, hematology, oncology, cardiovascular diseases, etc.

Located on the easily accessible Chamran Expressway, this complex offers a tennis court, swimming pool, mini-football field, gym, wrestling rings, table football, darts, multi-purpose gym. Dormitories offer a gym, equipment for table tennis (ping-pong).

The fall semester begins in late September and the spring semester begins in late January.

Applicants submit the following documents:

1. Application letter or motivation letter in which you clearly indicate the chosen specialty
2. Resume
3. Certificate of complete secondary education, in-depth study of courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, physiology together with a full transcript of records (minimum average score 3.00/4.00 or equivalent)
4. Knowledge of English, acceptable scores: IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 or its equivalent on TOEFL iBT (minimum 69) or TOEFL PBT (minimum 525).
5. Passport size photo
6. High-quality scan of the main pages of the passport.

The most talented applicants interested in continuing their studies at TUMS have the opportunity to apply for financial aid. They apply through the online TUMS form, it is part of the university application form.

If you meet the requirements, you will be granted a scholarship of up to 50% of the cost of your first year of study.

Criteria:

• Previous academic performance – the decision will be made on the basis of the average score, points obtained for previous academic degrees.
• Certificate of English Proficiency – a valid IELTS Academic certificate with a minimum score of 5.5 or its equivalent in TOEFL iBT (minimum 69) or TOEFL PBT (minimum 525) is required.
• Academic or extracurricular achievements – official national or international certificates of academic, artistic, sports achievements.
• Publications (only the first page, including title, authors and abstract).
