Foundation programme

Foundation programme is a program of enhanced preparation for the university, during which students will actively study English and Swedish and natural sciences necessary for further study at the chosen university.

The main block of subjects includes:

  • Mathematics

  • Social Studies.

The aim of the course is for students to gain a basic knowledge of landscape information and its use in physical planning, knowledge of landscape structure analysis and land use along with relevant environmental, historical and visual values. The children will actively get acquainted with the university, attend lectures and perform thematic homework on introduction to architecture, urbanism, design, landscape design and biology.

After completing the course, students will be able to:

  • Describe planning processes at different levels and know the actors at the level of central government, regional and local authorities,
  • Independently conduct search, written generalization and transfer of landscape information from national and international data sources based on questions formulated by the student himself,
  • Conduct landscape analysis yourself based on data provided using digital tools,
  • Write a full-fledged scientific work based on your own choice of questions and method.

The student gains knowledge about various projects and gains practical knowledge about landscape analysis as well as landscape information as such. The exercises alternate with lectures on methodology, landscape participants, planning tools and legislation related, for example, to environmental protection. integrated planning. The course includes study tours and seminars on literature and how field data should be processed and analysed. The course also gives an idea of how to use the services of the library at the university.
