South Hampstead High School is a private day school for girls aged from 4 to 18 years old. The school is part of the Girls' Day School Trust network of 26 independent schools and academies for girls in England and Wales.

In 2013, the old building of South Hampstead High School was demolished and a modern educational building, Waterlow Hall, which has 7 floors, was built in its place.

South Hampstead High School's elementary and middle grades focus on literacy and numeracy while sparking interest in learning activities in all their forms. Classes are held in an interactive format, allowing you to involve even the youngest students in the process of studying the material. South Hampstead High School is a stage in which the strengthening of the academic base is accompanied by the development of intrapersonal qualities and socially significant values. The personal base is built in parallel with classical subjects - for this, the school allocates special lessons, for example, drama, critical thinking, foreign languages, religion and philosophy. In the two years of graduation, girls begin to devote more attention and energy to preparing for the GCSE exam. Due to the increased workload, schoolgirls are given long breaks between classes: for example, lunch lasts 1 hour 15 minutes.

Sixth Form — students take a choice of 3 to 5 disciplines from several available within the A-Level program. Along with the usual activities, the girls also master project work, helping them better work out certain competencies: teamwork, critical thinking.

Students at South Hampstead High School have a rich extracurricular program: girls help organize themed parties, attend movie nights, participate in debates on current topics, hold discussions, travel, go on excursions and more. Some academic disciplines and additional electives allow girls to participate in expeditions, for example, in the World Challenge. The list of educational and entertainment trips for schoolgirls includes trips to Japan, Italy, America, NASA headquarters, etc.

On campus, students rehearse and present theatrical performances to the audience (they are led by teachers of graduating classes). Sometimes girls with memorized performances even perform at the legendary Edinburgh Fringe Festival!  In addition, South Hampstead High School has a choir and bands.
