Nursery

  • Students' age β€” 2–4 years old.

The private nursery is one of the new directions, located on the Pre-Prep campus on Fulham High Street. Learning here is built around the child and trusting relationships. The Inspired approach is based on modern research in cognitive science; it helps children actively participate in the life of the nursery rather than simply observe it. Thanks to this format, young children feel supported by adults and peers, engage with learning more quickly, and acquire new skills more easily.

The programme meets accredited early education standards in the United Kingdom and is linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage developed by the Department for Education, while adding more flexible and contemporary elements of early development. Key objectives:

  • to help children apply new skills across different situations and areas,
  • to develop communication, confidence, and curiosity about the world through exploration and play.

The nursery has a fixed daily routine: children arrive at 8:30 and leave at 15:30. If needed, an extended day or individual schedule can be arranged to adapt attendance times to suit the family.

Pre-Prep School

  • Students' age β€” 4–7 years old.

Pre-Prep is a preparatory department located in the Fulham area in calm and green surroundings. It offers a private early education programme focused on an individual approach and a comfortable, supportive atmosphere. The core idea of Pre-Prep is to instil in children a lifelong love of learning. Pupils quickly become part of the educational environment, interact with classmates, and learn through traditional teacher-led lessons, experiments, and exploration of the campus grounds.

The transition from nursery to school is smooth, as children become part of a caring academic community from the very beginning. There are no exams or tests at this stage β€” adjustment happens naturally. After the second year, pupils also move on to the next stage of education automatically, without exams or assessments.

The curriculum covers mathematics, English, French, science, history, physical education, music, computing, and art. In the first two years, the National Curriculum for English forms the foundation around which spiral learning is structured. Strong emphasis is placed on core skills β€” reading, writing, and mathematics β€” all complemented by creative and investigative activities.

French is taught from the very beginning, primarily in spoken form. Early exposure to the language helps children acquire it more quickly and naturally.

Creative development also holds an important place: music, art, and drama are embedded in the programme. Young pupils have 2 music lessons per week; sessions include singing, movement, playing instruments, and dance, and each year children take part in at least one musical or theatrical production.

Regular sessions in gymnastics, ball skills, dance, and games take place, with tennis and swimming added in the first two years.

The learning environment itself is bright and vibrant: the walls are decorated with children's work, outdoor lessons introduce pupils to the flora and fauna of the school garden, where they try growing plants β€” including some simple edible ones. Upon enrolment, pupils are assigned to one of four Houses: Bishops, Crabtree, Hurlingham, and Peterborough. Siblings are generally placed in the same community.

Throughout the year, various events take place: festive celebrations, Christmas performances, musical and theatrical productions. Pupils actively participate in school life and charitable projects, choosing organisations to support through fundraising and volunteering.

Form teachers remain the primary point of contact for families: they hold meetings, provide feedback, and monitor pupils' progress, offering support where needed.

Description of Fulham Prep Private School

The famous Fulham Prep School is located in the London districts of Hammersmith and Fulham (western part of the city): the institution includes two campuses located about 1.5 kilometers apart - this is a branch for children 4-7 years old called Pre-Prep and the main building for children 7-13 years old (Prep School).

The British private school was founded in 1996 and works as an effective educational center for mixed education: boys and girls from any country of the world can study here. Plus of the school is a wide age range of students: developed educational programs for students from 4 to 13 years are offered to foreign students. The key task of teachers and administrators is to reveal the potential of students, their personal abilities and talents, and to enable them to overcome themselves. The curriculum is as harmonious and balanced as possible, including academic, sports, and creative pursuits, and the allocated time for homework, and sufficient time for rest.

The Fulham Prep School creates the most comfortable, cozy and safe conditions for the youngest students: here they are taught to learn, they instill a steady motivation to acquire new knowledge and skills.

Academic classes are intentionally not very large (up to 20 people in each), so that teachers can implement a personal approach, pay enough individual attention to each child. In general, children are not studied purposefully to transfer from one level to another, special exams are not provided - the level of education allows children to learn the right amount of knowledge in time and to fully absorb and pass from Pre-Prep and Prep School without any problems. Starting from the age of 7, children (including foreign children) are admitted to the school on the basis of admission tests and personal interviews. Most children enter school at 7, 8, 11 years old (but if there are free places on the course, enrollment is possible at any age).

Fulham Prep School aims at qualitative preparation of young students for admission and studying in British traditional schools (usually they come in 11 or 13 years). In order that students can count on the chosen, the liked educational institution, and not choose any caught, Fulham Prep School allows flexible terms of the termination of a course. Students, getting into British Senior School, often demonstrate such excellent academic results that they become holders of scholarships.

Educational process

In Pre Prep (from nursery through to Year 2), the curriculum is broad, balanced, and sufficiently rich. From the very beginning, particular emphasis is placed on core skills: reading, writing, and mathematics. Teachers structure learning so that these foundations are built gradually and without gaps: the main idea is to create an environment in which young children feel engaged in their studies and are able to flourish.

In the lower preparatory years (3–4), the focus shifts to a smooth transition from the pre-school stage to more structured school learning. Students become more confident, demonstrate greater independence, and develop key skills while working within a more demanding and ambitious curriculum.

The upper preparatory years (5–8) represent a stage of more serious academic preparation: students deepen their subject knowledge, prepare for entrance examinations, and achieve strong results. During this time, they take on even greater responsibility, serve as role models for younger pupils, and gradually prepare for the next level of education and adult life.

Exam preparation is structured systematically and aimed at consistent academic achievement. The curriculum encompasses a variety of subjects and activities so that students can develop both personal and shared interests, explore new areas, and gain a better understanding of their own strengths.

Things to know about

  • School uniform is mandatory for students from Year 1 to Year 8, but it is bright, comfortable, and practical β€” it is generally well received by both children and parents. After enrollment, a full uniform list is provided, which can be purchased at The Schoolwear Specialists store online or in person (near the school).
  • The school was founded by Jane Emmett, who remains its trustee to this day. Since 1996, Fulham School has grown from a modest classroom into a large learning community of approximately 700 students, while maintaining a warm, family atmosphere.
  • In 2014, it joined the Inspired Education Group.
  • The nursery opened in 2022.

Accommodation, meals, prices
