For Swedish schoolchildren, it is time for big changes: in the next calendar year, a ban on the use of phones and smartphones in educational institutions will begin to apply throughout the state. The new rules will come into effect in September, when children and teenagers return to their desks after the summer holidays.
The creators of the initiative are confident that such a measure will help strengthen security in schools and raise the academic level. The project was one of the largest reform packages that have been adopted in the Swedish education sector over the past thirty years. According to the project, students will not be able to simply put the gadget in a backpack or personal locker - they will be required to hand over their phone to teachers, and receive their devices back only at the end of the school day.
Recall that earlier the Danish government has already announced a similar measure for schoolchildren; Similar, but less large-scale bans are in effect in French schools and Dutch schools.
