Junior General English

Universal summer English course for younger schoolchildren 8-11 years old. This is an opportunity to start an effective study of English from the very beginning, from the basics - children with minimal and even zero knowledge are accepted to the program. 15 hours a week is an ideal, calm intensity for young students, which will give an opportunity to improve their skills and not to overwork.
The course includes the study of all the main language aspects:
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Reading
- Letter
- Speaking.
Children participate in group projects, role-playing games, simulations of real conversational and life situations. The use of the communicative method of teaching allows you to quickly overcome the language barrier, help children speak calmly and confidently.
Every week, children – in the whole class or in mini-groups – prepare small projects. It can be a mini-film, a photo exhibition, a performance, a game-competition - the topic is determined together with the teacher. This will help them to more clearly determine their own progress, learn to use English fluently, hone theoretical knowledge in practice.
Junior Academic Discovery

The program is suitable for students who already know English, have experience in learning it. This is an option to learn English not from the basics of textbooks, but through different school subjects:
- History
- Geography
- English Literature
- Sciences (natural).
This format of classes helps to learn how to use English in practice, in its natural academic environment, to quickly tighten up grammar and vocabulary. This is especially useful for those students who plan to continue secondary education abroad, to enter foreign (English-speaking) schools.
Language learning takes place in an interactive, live format with an emphasis on oral speech. Teachers arrange discussions and debates, round tables, project tasks, improvisational and role-playing games for children. This is the best option to develop communication skills and overcome the language barrier as quickly as possible! Every week there will be test tasks that will help to see the progress of each student: it can be a competition within the classroom, a presentation or a scientific project, a challenge between groups, a writing exercise, a theatrical mini-performance or a role-playing game.
The course is usually divided into thematic modules (up to a week each) - variants of modules:
- The History of Early Explorers: geographical and scientific discoveries that changed the world are the best example and motivation for students to develop creativity, critical thinking;
- Creative Writing and Storytelling: an indispensable skill in the age of the Internet, especially useful for those who are thinking about a career in a digital environment.

The Junior Summer School is held on the basis of the prestigious British boarding school Canford School: the school received prizes independent Boarding School of the Year (2018) and Tatler Public School of the Year (2019). Studying here in the summer is an opportunity to feel like a real British schoolboy, to feel the spirit of an elite private school, to get a charge of motivation for the whole long academic year. The location in the picturesque countryside and the equipment according to modern standards will make comfortable and study, and accommodation, and rest, and entertainment.
The program is developed in two versions - for children 8-11 12-15 years old. The course works according to the principles and methodology of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning): it is the study of English at a calm pace, of medium intensity, but through the prism of the main academic subjects and disciplines, and not in isolation. Each week, students are divided into small groups and prepare research mini-projects on a variety of topics. So they will be able to show how advanced they are in learning English and other subjects, how much easier it is for them to use English for practical purposes, the real language environment.
All the main language aspects are studied:

- Listening comprehension (listening comprehension)
- Oral speech: fluency, accent, literacy, confidence
- Vocabulary, vocabulary expansion.

Students of the summer program occupy traditional residences on campus – Canford School takes care of its boarders throughout the year and offers excellent comfortable conditions. Rooms are designed for 1, 2 or 4 people (mostly students of the summer course occupy the last), bathrooms are shared, boys and girls live separately. Children have access to a common spacious living room, where they can relax and socialize, play board games.
Employees 24/7 are close to children, guarantee their safety and help with the solution of any issues. Laundry facilities are available once a week, and rooms and common areas are cleaned regularly and thoroughly.
Activities Canford Junior Summer Camp
The extracurricular program of recreation, excursions and entertainment is the strong point of this summer school. A variety of options will not let anyone get bored! Only in the evenings there is a choice of 10 leisure options. Entertainment is held in the afternoon, in the evenings, and on weekends. This is a great opportunity to find new friends, get acquainted with representatives of different cultures and peoples, hone communication skills – and spend time with pleasure!
