Novosibirsk State Medical University (NSMU) is a higher educational institution that educates specialists in the field of medicine. The university was founded on the basis of the merger of three universities in 1935 - after the issuance of a decree on the opening of medical institutes in Stalingrad, Leningrad and Novosibirsk.
Currently, educationin the institution takes place at eight faculties of medical profile. About 6000 students study at NSMU, disciplines are taught by a composition of teachers of 1700 people. Employees and teachers of the university participate in international medical conferences, projects, undergo internships at the bases of foreign organizations.
For all the time of its existence, NSMU has graduated more than 32,000 doctors, reeducated tens of thousands of specialists.

The hostel of NSMU are located within the city. First of all, foreign, non-resident students are allowed to settle, then full-time students. If there are places in the residential building, full-time students or those who pass the session or are in the process of defending a diploma can live.
The room accommodates from two to four people. Living quarters are provided with the necessary furniture, electrical appliances. Kitchens, toilets and showers are shared.

At the moment, three masters of sports of international class, 40 candidates for master of sports, 99 athletes of the first category are studying within the walls of the university.
