The Institute is the first branch of KFU, founded in 1997 in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, educational and pre-diploma practice.

The institute conducts research activities in the following areas:

• Development and research of advanced materials and resource-saving technologies for the production of parts with specified performance properties,

• Building an integrated intelligent system for designing, training and managing in machine-building production,
• Investigation of the properties of a moving discharge and the thermal physics of its interaction with the material,
• Technosphere safety of urbanized areas and production systems,
• System analysis and management of multiply connected multifunctional dynamic objects.

The university provides nonresident full-time students with 4 dormitories for 1510 residential places. There are power points in the cases.

For meals for students and staff, the university has a canteen for 100 seats and 5 buffets for 116 seats in total.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, the university organizes and takes part in the following events:

Training is conducted in 9 educational buildings equipped with classrooms for lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory work. The classrooms are equipped with the necessary modern equipment: screens, projectors, electronic whiteboards and computers with Internet access.

Students have access to a library with a reading room for 176 seats.

For sports, the institute has all the resources:

At the institute, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each of them, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).
