MTS's award-winning catering team is dedicated to providing more than 1,300 meals a day on campus. Their goal is not only to prepare meals, but also to develop a positive and healthy attitude towards food. MTS offers a wide variety of delicious meals that are prepared from scratch on site every day. The team of chefs focuses on healthy eating, encourages children to choose the right dishes, offers themed days with a wide selection of treats that have been held for many years.

Merchant Taylors prides itself on catering to those with special dietary requirements or food allergies, offering a wide variety of meals to suit all tastes. Students can find out which dishes are right for them with a button on the menu that highlights vegetarian, gluten-free, or dairy-free options.

MTS students grow into active and creative individuals through a busy calendar of sporting events, art exhibitions, musical and theatrical performances.

The main school sports are rugby, hockey and cricket, and every Saturday the school holds competitions in them. Pupils at the school also enjoy shared facilities, including a state-of-the-art sports centre with a multi-purpose gymnasium, fitness room, climbing wall and dance centre, a large sports field on Hall Road and an Astroturf course at the local Northern Club. At Merchant Taylors, the school year is divided into three trimesters, with the school year beginning in September and ending in June. Between trimesters, vacations are organized:

The first step for admission to Merchant Taylors' School is to choose the class a candidate wants to attend based on their age. After the admission decision, the applicant performs the following steps:

• Fill out the registration form and pay the registration fee,
• Accept an invitation to a school tour and a trial day,
• Provide a progress report and recommendations from the current school,
• Successful entrance exams,
• Pass the interview,
• Receive an invitation for a place by e-mail and pay the deposit.

Academic results in GCSEs and A-levels have consistently made MTS one of the best schools in the North of England. The vast majority of Merchant Taylors' School graduates continue their education at the university of their choice, including Oxford and Cambridge.

Merchant Taylors' Schools has an academic selection process. The main "entry points" are considered to be the preparatory class, the 3rd, 7th, 9th grades and the Sixth Form.

• Pre-school class: the child is invited to an orientation session, it will be necessary to provide a report from the current kindergarten or school.
• 3rd Grade: The child is invited to an orientation day, during which the candidate will take a cognitive aptitude test (includes verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning). You need to provide references and a report from the current school.
• Grade 7: Successful completion of the entrance exam (is a computerized test of cognitive ability that includes verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning).
• Sixth Form: Successful completion of the entrance exam (is a computerized test of cognitive ability that includes verbal reasoning, nonverbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning).

The candidate must have at least a B2 (Upper Intermediate) level of English.

Merchant Taylors' Schools provides financial support to boys and girls of academic ability, regardless of their financial circumstances. The amount of scholarships can vary up to 100% of the tuition fee inclusive, depending on the family's financial circumstances. Scholarships are available to students applying for admission in September to Grade 7 and Sixth Form (Grade 12).
