A-level

An effective and comprehensive, complex pre-university studying program (Sixth Form), designed for children aged 16-18 (grades 12-13). A-level is highly appreciated by universities in the UK and around the world: an Advanced Level General Certificate of Education with sufficiently high scores exempts students from taking additional entrance exams or tests.

For a total of 2 years, students have been studying a small list of subjects that they choose on their own.: These are 4-5 disciplines for the first year (AS-level) and 3-4 of them for the second year (A-level). Students usually choose the subjects that they plan to study at the university and that are necessary for successful enrollment in a university course. The studying is conducted in more depth and thoroughly, almost at the university level of increased complexity.

LVS Ascot offers a special introductory one-year program that prepares students for entry into elementary school. Educators work in close partnership with parents because they understand the importance of working together to ensure the best outcomes for each of the children.

In the Reception Class, great emphasis is placed on basic skills and knowledge that will serve as the basis for further academic study. One of the components of the program is literacy, which is developed with the help of phonetic courses Sounds-Write and Talk4Writing. These programs, as well as a rich language environment full of opportunities to further develop literacy skills, ensure that children consistently achieve high standards in reading and writing.

A hands-on approach to learning allows young students to develop an understanding and application of the information learned through the White Rose Education course. Specialist teachers are involved in further learning and children's experience in Spanish, Games, Physical Education, Music, Forest School, Dance and Swimming lessons.

The program aims to nurture in children a lifelong love of learning by offering them a variety of academic and extracurricular activities. Each child will be provided with individual support, a load plan will be drawn up so that they can reach their full potential.

Infant & Junior School

  • Age of students— from five years old,
  • The duration of the study is six years.

Junior Grades 1-6 of LVS Ascot are in the same building as High School and Sixth Form, but have their own guarded and gated area. All primary teachers are qualified professionals who are committed to providing students with a formal education in a happy, positive and resourced environment.

The program adheres to an approach based on a "growth mindset," where happiness and well-being are the cornerstone of academic success. Children are given confidence in their abilities, determination, and versatility.

As students move from the Reception Class to Key Stage 1, the course increasingly focuses on developing the skills learned earlier, exploring their individuality, gaining responsibility, and building self-confidence within the framework of good manners and respect for each other.

As pupils progress to Key Stage 2, the school aims to create opportunities to become more independent and confident learners. Students are encouraged to take on more responsibility and become decisive decision-makers, enjoying their studies within a more structured academic schedule.

Children enter Grades 5 and 6 with solid knowledge of all core subjects of the national curriculum, continue to develop a positive attitude towards learning and are confident in the role they play in the school community. The emphasis on independence, responsibility and integrity in the final years of primary school ensures that pupils become well-rounded young people who are able to transition smoothly and confidently to the next stage of their education.

When is the ideal time to apply to UK schools, and what should applicants expect?

Generally, the earlier, the better. Some prestigious schools close their admissions 1-2 years before the start of the program. Consider entrance exams, which require preparation, and visa processes, which don't fare well with last-minute arrangements.

Educational process

The Forest School on the LVS Ascot campus is a safe area for young children to play and learn, located on the shores of a picturesque lake, home to a variety of wildlife (safe for children). Activities such as cooking, building shelters, making fires, and using a variety of tools offer students new experiences, opportunities to take justified and calculated risks, build resilience, and connect with each other.

Forest School is an inspiring, child-centered learning experience. The program supports play, exploration, and builds confidence and self-esteem through hands-on experience in a natural setting.  At LVS Ascot, the Head of the Forest School also serves as an experienced primary school teacher. Children from the reception department to the sixth grade learn many interesting facts about animals, trees and plants, learn to use a wide range of tools, including saws and hand drills, hammers.

An equally important initiative is the support of students arriving from other countries. Since many of them are not native English speakers, teachers offer additional classes in the EAL course: this way students have the opportunity to progress in their language knowledge without suspending their academic studies.

LVS Ascot has several academic departments, each designed to educate students of a specific age: Preschool and Admission, Elementary, Middle School, Sixth Form.
