Kirov SMU was founded on April 2, 1987.

Kirov State Medical University provides 4 dormitories for 993 beds.

Students have free access to the library with a reading room with 70 seats.

At Kirov State Medical University, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each exam, an exam session is held, after passing the exam, students are given a vacation (in winter in January, in summer in July and in August).
