Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine named after N. E. Bauman (KGAVM) is the oldest higher institution of the veterinary region in Russia.
The university was founded in 1873 as the Kazan Veterinary Institute, the first students began their studies a year later. In 1995, the institution received its current name, and over the entire history of its existence, more than 22,000 veterinary specialists were graduated.
At the moment, about 1900 bachelors, specialists, masters and postgraduates of full-time, part-time, correspondence forms are trained at the KGAVM. The teaching staff includes about 84% of specialists with a degree, more than 20% of doctors of science.
