Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU) is a state university opened on the basis of the Kazan Industrial School. The institution received its current name in 1992. For all the time of its existence, more than 200,000 specialists graduated from KNRTU, among whom were academicians of sciences, laureates of prizes, corresponding members of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
To date, this educational institution is the largest educational center of chemical and technological profile in the Russian Federation. Students (more than 25,000 people) are enrolled in 370 programs of higher, secondary, additional education. The teaching staff includes 284 doctors, 990 candidates of science.

KNRTU students live in seven residential buildings. The first in line for settlement are foreign citizens, full-time students without a place of residence.
The campus is six houses, the seventh dormitory is located off-campus. The total number of rooms is 758, each of them is shared by two or three students. The buildings are equipped with a gym, laundries, dryers, showers and toilets, kitchens. In one of the houses there is a sanatorium-dispensary.
The monthly price for accommodation is from 350 to 700 p. depending on the building.
Students can eat in university canteens on study days, visit city supermarkets, cafes, restaurants on weekends.

KNRTU regularly publishes the newspaper "Technological University", has a press center, in the work of which students of the university take part.

The academic year includes two semesters, at the end of each of which a session is organized. Classes are held from Monday to Friday-Saturday, from two to five pairs of 1.5 hours per day. Students rest in winter - in January, in summer - in June-August, on weekends and public holidays.
