Mitweida University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1867. The university received its modern name in 2009. Today it is the largest educational institution in the field of Saxony, in which 7,000 students study.

All students in need are provided with a place in a hostel, which is within walking distance of the educational building. Practicing placement of one, two and three students per room.
