The European University in St. Petersburg was founded in 1994 - at the stage of creation, the educational institution was supported by the mayor of St. Petersburg Anatoly Sobchak. An educational institution has accepted graduate students in social sciences, humanities - anthropology, history, art history, political science, sociology, economics - since 1996.

EUSPb accepts graduates from different regions of Russia and foreign universities for education, has developed international and standard master's, postgraduate programs. At international courses, disciplines are taught in English. The main scientific direction of the university is social and human sciences, which are taught at 6 faculties. Scientific developments are carried out in dozens of research centers open on the basis of the educational institution.

Teachers at the European University are leading internationally recognized researchers, many of whom have earned doctorates at prestigious European and American universities. Scientists working at EUSP take part in the work of the Open Government, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Russian Science Foundation and the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations. EUSP is a regular participant in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

• European University in St. Petersburg is a private educational institution, it is distinguished by a flexible approach to the organization of the educational process. Students choose what they need, courses or services that meet specific educational goals. The university holds scientific conferences, organizes visits of foreign scientists, offers access to an extensive library, scientific resources.

The EUSP library has a unique collection of scientific literature on the profile of the university. The library collection includes both printed materials and electronic information resources on the humanities. Currently, the library fund has more than 50,000 volumes of printed publications, all publications, including books, magazines, reference books and dissertations, are in the public domain. The electronic resources fund is represented by electronic journals, full-text databases, necessary for the educational and research activities of the university. The library’s educational fund includes educational and educational literature, is formed in accordance with curricula and programs at the request of teachers, which meets the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard.

The European University works according to the semester system: the first semester lasts from September to January, the second - from February to June. Examination sessions are held twice a year.

A package of documents for graduate and postgraduate programs must be submitted to the selection committee before July 20. Applicants present documents about full secondary or vocational education.

Upon admission to education, additional points are awarded for the following individual achievements:

List of internal entrance tests:

Based on the results of entrance examinations and academic performance during and following the results of the semester, each faculty makes a rating of students.

• The first 10 students in the ranking receive an academic scholarship of 15,000 rubles in addition to a 95% discount on tuition fees.
• The first 13 students in the ranking receive a discount on tuition in the amount of 95% of the cost.
• The 14th and 15th students in the ranking receive a discount on tuition in the amount of 50% of the cost.
