English Summer Centre of Sunderland is a language school offering a programme for students aged 12 to 17 who are interested in esports. Every summer season, dozens of foreign students study at the educational center, who want not only to immerse themselves in learning English, but also to improve their skills in computer games under the guidance of qualified teachers.

The educational program was created with the support of British Esports, the national esports authority in the UK. The organisation is a recognised member of the Global Esports Federation for Great Britain and Northern Ireland and a founding member of the International Olympic Committee Esports and Gaming Liaison Group.

The education takes place in a modern learning area located in Sunderland. Here, esports meets personal development — the emphasis of classes is not only on practice in games such as Rocket League, Overwatch 2, Valorant, League of Legends, Fortnite, EA FC and F1, but also on improving leadership qualities and stress resistance. Teaching is conducted entirely in English, so in parallel with the study of esports areas, students effectively improve their level of English.

Each student receives comprehensive support from the moment of application until the graduation party. Staff provide an extensive range of additional services, monitor the wellbeing and safety of students, keep in touch with their families and monitor academic progress to ensure that only positive emotions remain from studying in England.

International students are accommodated in comfortable double rooms on the study grounds, use common living rooms, equipped kitchens and bathrooms. Accommodation in the residence provides daily balanced meals, the menu is compiled by qualified specialists; Students may request alternative meals if they have special dietary, religious, or medical needs.

Every evening, a variety of entertainment activities are organized in the camp, allowing students to get to know each other better, learn about other nationalities and cultures. Several hours in the evening are allocated for game sessions under the guidance of a coach.

Every week, foreign students will have excursions to historical and cultural sights, entertainment centers. The leisure program includes at least one full-day trip, and another half-day trip.

The educational process takes place at the prestigious National Esports Performance Campus in Sunderland. The small building includes modern facilities, common recreation areas, living rooms and much more, classes are organized in computer and lecture classes with interactive equipment, modern PCs with software and gaming applications.

The nearest airports to the educational area are in Newcastle, Edinburgh, and Manchester. Thanks to good transport infrastructure and organized transfers, students can easily reach the campus and explore the region.

The summer program usually starts at the end of July and offers a flexible duration of study: one, two, three or four weeks. Classes in English, esports skills are held on weekdays in the morning, afternoon, and in the evening, students participate in campus events.

Tuition fee already includes many services: registration fee, accommodation and meals, academic classes and educational materials for them, off-site and campus events, entrance and final tests. Some services are paid additionally to tuition fee:

The admission process consists of filling out a detailed application form, providing documents and passing an online English level test. During educational process, foreign students gain in-depth skills in esports, improve their level of English proficiency, and upon completion, they receive a graduation certificate that will allow them to continue their studies in this field at an English-speaking university or college.

The main criteria for admission to the summer course are:

• A valid passport, visa or residence permit, health insurance;
• The level of English proficiency is from B1;
• Age from 12 to 17 years.

The educational staff will help applicants prepare the necessary documents to obtain the right to study in England, accompany them from the moment of application to arrival at the campus.
