Chisholm Academy provides a 7-8 grade level of instruction on an individual basis and in a classroom format.

High school

Chisholm Academy High School is a traditional private full-time high school, characterized by small classrooms and a unique, flexible, personalized learning approach. Students who require advanced studying, assistance, or a small classroom environment, and those looking for strategies to overcome learning difficulties will find a place in Chisholm.

Students are offered a full range of academic, applied, basic courses in small groups to prepare for university, college, work. Flexible hours allow students to personalize their school experience. This ability to design tailored programs based on the student's educational and academic profile is unique to the Chisholm High School experience.

The Learning Strategies course is offered in grade 9 and helps to prepare students for graduation. Each receives individual support and a comprehensive, one-to-one co-operative learning program empowers students outside the classroom. In addition to the assistance that is offered in each classroom, there is the option to attend additional classes every day during lunchtime and after school. For those few students who require even more support, after school tutoring services are available.

  • Chisholm Academy takes an individual approach to each family. The admission process may be different for each family, and the school will personally help you with this.
  • Initial Contact - the admission process begins with a conversation with an admissions officer.
  • Interview with parents to explore eligibility of parties: can Chisholm provide a supportive, environment that meets the child's needs for academic and personal success.
  • Parents provide Chisholm with supporting documentation: updated psychoeducational assessment, recent report cards, previous IEPs, other documentation of the child's needs.
  • Interview with a student - the admissions office staff will spend 20-30 minutes getting to know each other, to offer a tour of the school, to meet other students, and to spend time in the classroom.
  • The school will ask permission to contact the child's previous institution to gather additional information to help to understand how best to meet the student's needs.
  • The selection committee will present all the information collected in order to make a decision on the proposal.
