One of the most well-known British sixth-form colleges — Cardiff Sixth Form College — is preparing to open a new modern campus in the centre of Cardiff. The project is a response to growing interest from students in the UK and other countries, and is aimed at expanding opportunities for study and accommodation.
The new campus is located in the Cardiff Bay area, near the Wales Millennium Centre and the Senedd building, where the Welsh Parliament sits — according to the college, this location will allow students to study in one of the most dynamically developing areas of the city, combining educational, cultural, and business environments. The campus is designed for approximately 500 students and will bring together modern classrooms, science laboratories, an assembly hall with a view of the bay, sports facilities, and recreational spaces. The following are provided for students:
- A residence with private bedrooms and bathrooms,
- A medical centre,
- Multifunctional common areas,
- A gym,
- A basketball court,
- Spaces for representatives of different faiths (prayer rooms).
The college emphasises that the project was created not only as a new learning space, but also as a comfortable environment where foreign and British students can successfully study, develop, and feel part of an international community.
Brief overview:
- In 2025, the college was recognized as the best in the United Kingdom by A-level results: 94% of graduates received A*–A grades.
- Cardiff Sixth Form College is part of the Dukes Education group, which brings together 63 educational brands across 12 countries. In addition to the Cardiff campus, the college operates in Cambridge.
