Widely known not only in Spain, but also in the world, the Bruguera Tennis Academy was founded by the Bruger family in 1986. Professional players can study here, schoolchildren from all over the world (12-18 years old) can improve their skills or combine tennis lessons with general educational programs.
The main goal of the Academy's work is the education of future champions, the inculcation of love for sports and the pursuit of high achievements. With the students there is a professional, qualified, experienced team of specialists of world renown:
Tennis is not only one of the most popular sports in the world, but also quite expensive. To reduce the costs of future champions, the school administration offers a balanced course that includes studying, accommodation and sport exercises.
Each student is assigned a personal coach, an individual program of studying, games and nutrition is developed for him, if necessary, the plan includes physiotherapeutic and restorative procedures. During the years of successful work, the Smog Academy has developed its own pedagogical method: it strengthens the athletic spirit of the students, forms a strong, purposeful and persistent character, fosters discipline and the desire to achieve goals.
Classes at the Tennis Academy are held on weekdays (9:00-13:00 and 14:30-16:30): 30% of the time is devoted to theoretical lessons (consideration of tactics, analysis of past games and studying), 70% is given to the practical game.
Almost every week the Academy organizes or participates in various competitions, matches and tournaments - they are held 10 months a year and are designed for players of very different levels: almost anyone can participate in one of the championships.
In order to ensure an individual approach to each student, the Academy limits the number of places for students: today only about 30 people study here at a professional level (of course, schoolchildren and amateurs somewhat more).
The Academy has a special service to support foreign students: it helps teenagers who pass a secondary education program at school, to enter American universities and apply for a personal sports scholarship. The support program includes the following activities:
Schooling in the middle-class program is available to students from around the world aged 11-18. If students come to the country with their relatives or official guardians who live near the campus, admission to the school can be carried out from the age of 9.
The academic program is specially designed in such a way as to perfectly match the course of professional studying. For academic studies, students attend a private school located in walking distance with a high national ranking.
The educational plan corresponds to the national standard of Spain and ends with the passing examinations of Baccalaureat Español: pupils can attend both primary classes (6-12 years) and middle classes (12-16 years), and complete the school curriculum and prepare for entry into world universities (16 -18 years). The Academy's adaptation program has the opportunity to prepare high school students for admission not only to Spanish universities, but also to universities in Europe, the United States, France, Britain and other countries.
Classes are conducted bilingually: English + French or English + Spanish. The curriculum includes all the key, fundamental disciplines of the secondary education cycle:
The accommodation and meals are paid separately.
For high school students aged 16-18, the Academy offers effective courses in preparation for admission to foreign universities (in priority universities of Spain and the United States). The course is available for students who have already received a certificate of secondary education in their home country (in Russia this is 11 years of studying). Applicants of the program must confirm a sufficiently high level of a foreign language by passing the entrance examination.
The most popular type of the preparatory program is the Foundation's one-year course: after its completion, successful students can be enrolled for the first year of undergraduate studies at the chosen institution.
The course price already includes accommodation and meals in the residence).
Universal and effective English language courses are offered as a supplement to the professional program of tennis practice, they are not combined with the general education course.
All classes are conducted by experienced language teachers who have appropriate accreditation for working with foreign students. If desired, graduates of the language program can pass the exam and get a certificate proving a fairly high level of knowledge.
The language program is offered to students as an addition to professional tennis exercises - it is not designed to be combined with the general education program for schoolchildren. If desired, at the end of the course you can take an international exam and receive a valuable educational certificate demonstrating the level of knowledge achieved.
Classes are conducted by experienced, qualified teachers: each is a native speaker of the Spanish language, each is accredited to work with foreign students and international groups.
For students attending an intensive program of professional tennis exercises, additional French courses are available. Please note that this course is not compatible with the general school curriculum for children and adolescents.
Classes are conducted by professional, experienced linguists-native speakers of French: each of them received accreditation for work with foreign students and international groups.
If desired, graduates of the linguistic program can take exams and receive a certificate of a high level of the French language.
For students over the age of 18 who have already completed the secondary (school) education course, the Tennis Academy, in conjunction with the Barcelona International Business School, offers bachelor's courses in English in the following specialties:
The well-established partnership between the Academy and the Business School makes it possible to effectively combine the educational program and professional tennis coaching, to participate in tournaments and competitions, to improve and confirm their qualifications.
Graduates of bachelor's programs for obtaining a diploma must earn at least 240 academic credits: in the future they can be taken into account when applying for master's courses in the UK or the US.
