Bloom World Academy (BWA) is an international school located in the United Arab Emirates that offers the curriculum of the UK educational system for students from 18 months to 18 years old. Bloom World Academy is owned by Bloom Education, which has been running several schools for more than 10 years, making it a pioneer in the Middle East education sector. About 14,000 students from around the world study at Bloom Education institutions.

For its short history, Bloom World Academy has established itself as an innovative institution with modern approaches to upbringing and comprehensive education of children. The school began its journey with a small group of students, over the years it has grown, thanks to which today it can provide places for about 750 students from children's groups to graduating classes.

Educators and staff here believe that education should be dynamic, creative, constantly evolving, and open to children's different thinking abilities. Still providing the highest quality of education expected from a premium school, yet flexible and personalized for each child, Bloom World Academy embeds a variety of teaching methods into the curriculum: outdoor activities, gaining practical skills in the format of games and watching movies, attending lectures, and others. Educators take into account the individuality of each student, which is supported through a robust academic program, individual study plan.

Since technology has been introduced into many areas of life and activity, students use various equipment and software in the educational process.

Information technology is actively included in the curriculum at all stages, going beyond simple access to laptops and iPads: students have the opportunity to learn a lot through workshops, workshops on robotics, programming, coding, and the practical use of technology to enhance and support learning.

The BWA's academic activities are conducted at three levels: Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School, and High School. The instructional approach divides students into seven levels of education according to their age:

1. Early Childhood Development Center – 18 months-3 years,
2. Preparatory Department – from 3 to 6 years,
3. Junior School: Grades 1-2 – 6-8 years old,
4. Junior School: Grades 3-5 – 8-11 years old,
5. Middle Grades: Grades 6-8 – 11-14 years old,
6. High School: Grades 9-10 – 14-16 years old,
7. Graduating classes: 11-12 grades — 16-18 years old.

Lumos is Bloom World Academy's innovative program designed to develop students' entrepreneurial and leadership skills outside of the classroom. Lumos embraces the worlds of technology, design and business, developing students' imagination and creative thinking. Guided by an external perspective on learning, students are encouraged to explore, play and create using innovation and entrepreneurship, they are encouraged to develop technical, digital and physical products, and are taught how to prepare for bringing them to market.

Through close collaboration with local industry, Bloom World Academy promotes innovative design and creativity in relation to new technological developments, participation in educational, research and innovation initiatives in the UAE. Students' experiences are enriched by collaborating with successful industry professionals to explore potential ideas, solve real-world problems, mentor and support students.

In Bloom World Academy has introduced a modern unisex uniform made from eco-friendly materials and suitable for the UAE climate: shorts that can be worn by any age group, a lightweight fleece shirt designed to be comfortable in air-conditioned classrooms.

Bloom World Academy does not yet have residential buildings.

An important part of the school's philosophy is to provide children with balanced meals throughout the day: BWA was one of the first schools to contract with the supplier Ben's Farmhouse, which offers healthy, organic and high-quality food that meets all tastes and dietary requirements. All dishes on the varied menu are prepared using local produce, which benefits agricultural farms (and reduces carbon dioxide emissions at the same time).

Ben's Farmhouse delivers breakfasts, lunches, healthy snacks to the dining room, and also operates a popular parents' café – a place where parents can wait for their children over a cup of coffee, chat with other parents, teachers and mentors of students.

Performing and creative arts occupy an important place in the extracurricular life of students. Arts programs provide students with a wide range of opportunities to realize their own potential, exploring historical, social, and cultural perspectives. Performing and creative arts develop students' imagination, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and collaborative interaction. In addition to being exposed to a variety of different artistic techniques and mediums, including drama and music, students at Bloom World Academy are exposed to the visual arts of different cultures, languages, genres, and time periods. Above all, the Performing and Creative Arts program serves to develop innovative thinking and the creative use of technology, thereby preparing students to fully participate in a multifaceted world.

At the BWA, traditional practices in the arts such as dance, theatre, painting and sculpture are valued. Access to technology gives students a wide range of tools to express their ideas – students practice the skills and concepts learned in the classroom and explore their interests in the visual and performing arts. Bloom World Academy regularly hosts theatrical performances, exhibitions, workshops, video and audio podcasts for all age groups – families of students are always invited to attend and support their children's performances.

Education at the BWA is diverse, with extracurricular activities offering development in any of the leisure activities, including sports and physical well-being. Staff and teachers encourage competitiveness and ambition in sports, thanks to which Bloom World Academy achieves notable success in a number of team and individual sports every year. Highly qualified sports teachers, coaches, modern indoor and outdoor sports facilities will allow you to students to try their hand at new activities, to continue their development in the sports they already know.

Students can take part in pre-school activities (8-9 a.m.) and/or after school (4-5 p.m.) every day – all included in the tuition fee. Programs are conducted by teachers or specially selected external professionals and are focused on deepening knowledge, reviewing topics, developing the unique talents of each student. By allowing students of all ages to work together, educators create a sense of community, respect for diversity. Classes are held on topics such as languages, sports, technology, creativity and performing arts, with separate homework assignments.

In addition to supporting education and well-rounded development, student well-being is a core part of the care that BWA staff focus on: there is a staff physician on campus, two nurses who provide health services to all students throughout the day. 

The school works in close partnership with VPS Healthcare Group, one of the largest private healthcare companies in the UAE, and the school clinic team is registered and licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Healthcare professionals at BWA administer first aid, prescribe medications, and, if necessary, refer students to medical practitioners or emergency services. They work with doctors and parents to monitor the health of students suffering from chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes, conduct regular weight, height and vision checks, and coordinate the vaccination program.

Bloom World Academy's research centers and libraries are open to students of all grades: they are well-equipped spaces that offer students access to a wide range of literature, technology, and artifacts designed for academic development, in-depth exploration of interests, research, and project work.

There are three semesters in the academic year:

• Autumn: end of August-December,
• Spring: January-March,
• Summer: April-early July.

Students attend classes on weekdays, weekends are Saturdays, Sundays, national and international holidays. During the year, there are holidays lasting one to two weeks, the longest being the summer - from July to September.

Bloom World Academy implements a flexible school day schedule, making BWA the first school in the Emirates to offer later start times to ensure that students' learning is in balance with family life. A later start time not only respects natural sleep cycles, but also optimizes productivity during the school day, resulting in significant improvements in students' overall well-being and physical health. Later start times are from 9 a.m.; It is supported by a combination of additional comprehensive care and extracurricular activities to enhance the curriculum, support students' emotional and physical well-being, and support parents who are looking for a family-friendly childcare schedule.

For admission to BWA programs, international applicants must provide:

• Personal documents of the child and parents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit for a long stay in the UAE,

• Documents confirming the individual needs of the child, if any.

Enrollment in middle and high school requires a good command of the English language; if the student does not have enough knowledge and skills, they will be offered additional EAL classes.

All documents must be translated into English and certified.

Bloom World Academy offers a discount program for families with multiple children enrolled in the school. The second and subsequent students receive a 5% discount on the annual tuition fee, a similar discount is also given to those students who recommend the school to their friends or distant relatives.
