The FaceBoarding system is based on powerful software developed by Thales, and the Dormakaba system is responsible for security.
The process of using the technology is quite simple and intuitive. After check-in for the flight, the passenger no longer needs to show a passport at each stage of the control - the passenger's facial data is recorded in the system, allowing you to almost instantly verify his identity using cameras installed at various points of the airport. This greatly simplifies the procedure and saves time, now passengers only need to show the document for check-in once - then FaceBoarding will take care of all the checks.
Will be implemented throughout Europe
To date, the application is in testing mode, the full implementation of the system is planned this summer. According to this plan, the software will begin to be used not only at airports in Italy, but throughout Europe.
It is important to note that so far only passengers over 18 years old can get acquainted with the innovation.
Now the system is available at two Italian airports - Linate and Catania, where it has already shown positive results and found a response among passengers.
