Brief information about specialized German course for university entrants of Austrian and German universities.
The course lasts 12 - 52 weeks. The program provides for an academic load of 20/30 lessons of general German per week and 8 hours of preparation for the exam for obtaining an international language certificate of B2 or C1 level. In the classroom, the emphasis is on developing communication and learning skills.

Brief information about the program of preparation for exams for obtaining OSD.
A special course, designed for at least 2 weeks, provides for the choice of the level of academic load. Students are offered a program with 20 basic German lessons per week, 8 additional classes in groups or 4 individual meetings with a native speaker. The intensive course provides the basic load of 30 hours / week.

- Learning outcomes: improvement of the general language knowledge, the acquisition of the skills necessary for the effective passing of an examination for an Austrian language certificate.

The German preparatory course, with a duration of 12 to 52 weeks, is an excellent base for preparing the child for university stress. The program is aimed at high school graduates who would like to study in Austria. The course consists of 4 standard or 6 intensive lessons, daily taking place in small groups with international students according to a certain curriculum. This course will help students to improve their knowledge of the German language.
Preparing for the University
The preparatory program prepares students for examinations for further admission to the university. ActiLingua is a examination center for obtaining OSD certificates required for admission to the university. OSD-Mittelstufe (B2) or OSD Oberstufe (C1) will be recognized by the Austrian and some German universities and will be admissible upon admission to the university. Our university placement officer (at two seminars) will inform students about the Austrian higher education system and help them in choosing the right university and program.
University Accommodation Service
You can also order a service to host a university. Before you come to Austria and start your German course at the Academy of ActiLingua, we will check whether your international diplomas are allowed in the Austrian university. We host students at a private university or at the University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule). You can also choose a university with English programs in Austria.
Students with zero knowledge of the German language are advised to begin the course with a minimum of 36 weeks.

Intensive Course

- 2-3 times a week (= 5 lessons) cultural and special program (by interests). For example - tours of Vienna, conversations and videos about Austrian music, special lessons on art, literature, cuisine, history and architecture, the Vienna Waltz course, parties, sports.

- Educational literature can be borrowed. Also books can be bought with a 50% discount at the school office.
- Dictionary of ActiLingua

Description of ActiLingua Language School
ActiLingua Academy is one of the leading language schools in Vienna. It is located in the center of the Austrian capital. At the school, students are offered language courses of different intensity and academic specialization. The most popular programs are the preparation for the university in Austria and the preparation for the exams to receive OSD (Austrian language diploma). All courses take a minimum of 12 weeks.
Education in the Austrian language school provides not only academic load of medium and high intensity. A lot of extracurricular activities are organized for students. All of them are entertaining and educational, allowing to consolidate the material you passed in an informal atmosphere, to develop communication skills, to improve your knowledge of the German language.

Educational process
Classes develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills and help students expand their vocabulary. Students are assigned to one of eight levels based on their German proficiency. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes.
Children are grouped by age and German proficiency, with separate groups for ages 6–8 and 9–12. Children who are ill receive digital lesson materials. Summer School uses real-life communication, language games, and pair and group activities to practice grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and listening.
University Preparation includes two advising sessions on Austrian higher education and help choosing a university and major. Students who choose Enrolment Guidance have their international educational qualifications reviewed before arriving in Austria to assess whether those qualifications could meet university admission requirements. They can also receive help selecting an Austrian university that offers programs in English.
Group courses require at least five participants. If enrollment falls below this minimum, the school may cancel the course and refund its full cost or reduce the number of lessons by 20% without a refund.
Accommodation, meals, prices
ActiLingua Academy offers placement:
- In the host family. Students are provided with separate rooms with furniture and Internet access. The facilities are in common use, like kitchen and bathroom. Half board is available.
- In the residence / apartment: 1-2-bed rooms with private facilities are offered to students of summer courses in the hostels of the University of Salzburg. In the buildings in public access there are laundry, recreation areas, kitchens. Meals are not provided.
- The hotel ActiLingua. From the main school building it takes 10-minute drive. The hotel offers standard apartments (1-2-bedded with kitchen, bathroom, TV, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning) and comfort (personal rooms with amenities, kitchen , TV, wireless Internet, daily cleaning in the 5/7 mode). Half board is available for hotel guests.
Subjects, specialties
Activities ActiLingua Language School
Extracurricular program includes entertaining activities and cognitive leisure. For students discos, shows, quizzes, competitions, barbecues, etc. are organized. The excursion program includes acquaintance with the sights of Vienna, Salzburg, Vashau, Kreisenstein. Also, eco-routes are offered to the students, for example to Lake Neusiedler.
Daily routine
Lessons take place from morning till lunch.

Facilities and equipment at ActiLingua Language School
One of ActiLingua's teaching locations occupies a Viennese Art Nouveau building with bright classrooms. It is in Vienna's diplomatic district, near Belvedere Palace. The city center is 15 minutes away.
The school has a library, a media center, and digital learning tools.
The summer school takes place on an enclosed campus with classrooms and a large private park in central Vienna, close to the main sights.
Admission dates and extra charges
Holiday Course and Summer School classes run Monday through Friday. Standard accommodation options have Sunday arrivals and Saturday departures. The same schedule applies to Summer School. Serviced apartments with a rooftop pool allow arrivals and departures on any day.
Children's courses follow separate schedules:
- After-School Course meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 17:30. Students can attend both days or just one,
- Saturday German Club meets on Saturdays from 09:30 to 12:00, with one 150-minute session per week.
For course bookings, an advance payment of EUR 198 toward the total booking cost is due at registration. The balance must be paid at least 20 days before the course begins. For Holiday Course, full payment must be received at least 20 days before arrival. The school then sends a welcome letter with course and accommodation details. Students registering for university preparation and admissions guidance must pay for those services along with the booking advance. For these bookings, the entire initial payment, including the charges for these services, is nonrefundable.
The serviced apartments with a rooftop pool have an administration fee and a refundable deposit. The final cleaning charge is deducted from the deposit. The deposit differs for stays of 4–11 weeks and those of 12 weeks or longer. For the latter, the amount also depends on the apartment type. For stays of 4–11 weeks, payment is due seven days after the accommodation contract is issued. Longer stays have a separate contract with the accommodation provider.
Additional expenses include visa arrangements and insurance. Coverage is available for the duration of the stay and includes medical expenses, accidents, baggage, and travel liability.
There are no classes on public holidays. Group lessons are neither rescheduled nor refunded. Individual lessons, including the one-to-one component of the super-intensive course, are redistributed across the other days scheduled for private instruction.

Enrolment process

Perspectives
Austrian and some German universities may accept ÖSD Zertifikat B2 or C1 as proof of the required German proficiency. Recognition depends on the requirements of the university the student chooses.
Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
- Children's courses are for ages 6–12, Holiday Course is for ages 16–19, and Summer School is for ages 12–17,
- University Preparation and Enrolment Guidance are intended for high school graduates planning to study in Austria,
- Students must already know the Latin alphabet to take a course, as the school does not teach it,
- Children may be able to join a course after it has started, subject to availability,
- Travel insurance is mandatory for Summer School participants,
- Students are responsible for obtaining a visa if required. The school provides support with this process. A visa invitation letter can be issued once the school has received full payment for the booked services,
- A working internet connection is required for Live Online classes.
