Nursery

  • Age – from two to five years
  • The period is up to three years.

This program is aimed at the initial education of the youngest pupils of the academy. The schedule is for the whole day from 8:00 to 15:00 with an additional early departure home at 13:15.

Educatipn is conducted under the IB Primary Years Program (PYP). Teachers are looking for an individual approach to each child, evenly developing his independence, adaptability, social responsibility, communication and communication skills. Once a child is ready for rigor and responsibility, demonstrates a higher level of independence, he is considered ready for the IB Pre-Kindergarten Program.

Middle Years Programme (MYP)

  • Age – from 13 years
  • The period is 5 years.

The high school program covers grades 6-10 and prepares students for the DP graduate program. Students will gain knowledge and certain information in an academically rigorous environment that fosters independence, personal exploration, and the development of creative and critical thinking.

MYP consists of eight subject groups:

  1. Compulsory language, literature: Arabic or English,
  2. Additional language, literature: French, Spanish,
  3. Mathematics: ordinary or advanced,
  4. Design
  5. Integrated humanities, including politics, history, economics and geography,
  6. Natural sciences with divisions in biology, physics and chemistry,
  7. Physical, sanitary education,
  8. Arts: theatrical, visual, music, dance.

Teaching and learning in a real-life context helps students understand the applicability of the knowledge gained.

Each 9th grade student develops a personal project, creating a creative work that is a final overview of the knowledge, skills and responsible actions acquired throughout the training. The project is presented at the presentation, which ends the 10th year of study.

Diploma Programme

  • The training period is 2 years.

The last two years of school life are an academically challenging and balanced final examination program that prepares students between the ages of 16 and 19 for university admission.

The program includes six subject groups:

  1. English language, literature,
  2. Second language: Arabic, Spanish, French,
  3. Society: Business Management, Global Politics, Economics, History, Psychology,
  4. Sciences: biology, chemistry, physics, nature science, design technology, sports science, computer science,
  5. Mathematical analysis and applications,
  6. Arts: theatre, music, visual arts.

Students also explore three foundational topics for further career building:

  1. Creativity, Activism, Service (CAS) – allows students to improve personal and interpersonal development.
  2. The Extended Essay (EE) is a mandatory component of the course, which is the culmination of the training. The volume of the essay is 4000 words on any topic of interest to the student.
  3. The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) gives students the opportunity to reflect on the nature of knowledge and its applicability.

Career Related Programme

  • Age – from 16 years
  • The period is 2 years.

The Professional Programme (CP) is an advanced BTEC diploma and the integration of IB values into a unique course aimed at students engaged in vocational education.  World Academy – Dubai is one of only two schools in the region accredited to host all four IB programmes.

CP has been specifically designed for students who already want to develop in their future careers during their school years. Students of the program take at least two courses from the four components of the IB Diploma Program (DP).

Students must meet four basic requirements:

  1. Service training – development of new skills, social work and volunteering.
  2. Personal and Professional Skills (PPS) – development of skills in the field of employment through the implementation of a series of projects.
  3. Reflective project – the student's reflections on an ethical problem related to the chosen topic.
  4. Learning a foreign language through project work.

Final exams await students at the end of the 12th grade. Papers are evaluated by international groups of examiners, with scores ranging from 1 (lowest) to 7 (highest). Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a BTEC diploma.

World Academy – Dubai is an international private school offering the largest mother tongue program among schools in the UAE, as well as many IB courses.

The campus is designed to accommodate more than 2000 students. Among them there are representatives of more than 90 nationalities, and the teaching staff consists of about 190 teachers from 27 countries.

Things to know about

Mark Thompson is a tenth grade student who decided to help... a cat! Mark modeled a cat's paw using software and used a 3D printer to create a working real-size paw prosthesis, which was then used by a veterinary surgeon. Now the cat can not only walk, but also lead a normal cat life - jump, run and play.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Next to the academic buildings are the residential complexes Meadows, Springs, Lakes and Arabian Ranches. The school itself does not provide accommodation on campus.

World AcademyDubai is the only school in Dubai that has a live kitchen with qualified chefs. The academy has a cafeteria and a café where fresh and varied meals are served daily. At lunchtime, students can purchase hot and cold meals, and during breaks have a snack with pastries, desserts or appetizers. Students can also bring packed lunches from home, however, the academy's management prohibits the introduction of carbonated drinks, sweets and food containing allergens.

Elementary students eat in their classrooms, the rest attend the cafeteria under the guidance of teachers.

Employees of the Academy recommend that parents get cards for non-cash payment in order to always regulate and track the spending of children. In the lobby of the main building there is a parents' café, designed for those who are waiting for their children from classes. It is open from 7:30 to 16:00 from Monday to Thursday, until 13:00 on Friday.

Activities World Academy – Dubai

The Academy offers its students more than a dozen different language courses within the school curriculum, which do not require additional fees. Students can both tighten their knowledge and learn languages in the directions they need: education, life, career, hobbies.

Extracurricular activities in the institution are represented by several areas: sports, creativity, science and charity. Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Foreign applicants entering any of the school stages should be provided with:

  • Copies of personal documents of the child and one of the parents: foreign passport, medical insurance, visa or residence permit,
  • School reports for the last two years,
  • Certificate of transfer from another school,
  • A completed questionnaire with the choice of the course and personal data of the future student,
  • Test for confirmation of the level of English proficiency: TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo or others. Depending on the level of education, the student will be enrolled in a class suitable for his level.
