Picking flowers
Many endangered plant species grow in Turkey, which are strictly forbidden to pluck. A policeman or tour guide will not spare a tourist who may not even know that these orchids, snowdrops or tulips are rare species. Therefore, in parks, forests and elsewhere, do not pick flowers unknown to you, but only admire them. Don't be greedy!
Taking photos without permission
How to come back from vacation without a single photo? But before you take a picture of yourself on the beach, how you hold the sun on your hand, look around to see if there are women in national clothes/swimsuits or representatives of law enforcement agencies next to you. They should not be removed in any case! It is also forbidden to photograph government buildings and military facilities.
Do not talk about forbidden topics
It is better not to talk to the inhabitants of Turkey about politics, religion, the army and representatives of many nationalities (however, as well as with other inhabitants of the Earth...). Discuss neutral topics that will not affect the honor and dignity of the locals.
Don't flirt with the locals
Muslim countries are very strict about showing attention to women, so men do not need to flirt with them, stare at them, smile, touch and generally molest them. Such behavior will be regarded there as a desire to get closer, is considered indecent and can even be punished. This is especially strict in small towns.
Walking without documents
In an unfamiliar country, it is always worth carrying documents with you: passport, driver's license, hotel voucher - the police can easily approach tourists to check their documents, and it will be very unpleasant if you do not have them. Especially in Istanbul, document checks are often carried out, so it is important to always have them with you (at least a photocopy, but bright and legible).
Do not take food away from the café
Tourists like to take with them what they have not eaten, but this is forbidden in Turkey. Don't think that the employees of the hotel or restaurant are so angry, they just care about your health! Due to the heat and lack of proper conditions for storing food, food can spoil, and you can easily be poisoned by what you have stored in the room.
