Weber State University is a public university that provides many programs for students of northern Utah, other states and countries. The institution was founded by the Church of Jesus Christ in 1889 as the Weber Academy. The university acquired its name in honor of the eponymous district named after John Henry Weber - one of the first fur traders, a rich and educated person.

Weber State University offers more than 250 degree programs based on seven colleges in the following areas:

Accommodation, meals, prices

University students live in two complexes:

  • Wildcat Village – 1876-2924$ per semester

Suites with two bedrooms, each of which accommodates two students. Bathrooms are equipped in each room: showers, toilet and two sinks. Kitchens and laundries are shared, located on each floor.

  • University Village – 1890-2832$ per semester

Each apartment accommodates four students. Students have a private bedroom, shared bathroom, kitchen and living room.

All residential buildings are furnished, guarded and round-the-clock video surveillance.

Residents of Wildcat Village must purchase one of the meal plans – the number of meals with the price per semester:

  • Three meals a day during the week, additional 175$ – 2800$
  • Two meals a day every week, 175$ – 2050$
  • Seven dinners, weekend brunches, an additional $625 – $2,050
  • 140 courses per semester + additional 625$ – 2050$
  • 7 dinners per week + 375$ – 1550$.

Activities Weber State University

Students at Weber University actively participate in sports football competitions, playing at stewart Stadium. Men's, women's basketball, tennis teams play in one of the prestigious centers of the state - Dee Events Center. Students actively attend training in 18 sports: rock climbing, martial arts, skiing, swimming, fencing and much more.

Students can attend both individual and group workouts in the gym. All classes are held under the guidance of experienced trainers, who also make plans for healthy eating.

The university has a wide variety of clubs: from sports and creative to religious and international. Each student will be able to find a team with similar interests, and if there is no such thing yet, he will be able to easily establish his own.

Creative students have the opportunity to develop their talents in dance, drawing, theater or music sections – such students are more likely than others to organize and participate in almost all activities on campus. All events taking place at the institution are followed by student journalists, presenters of The Signpost newspaper, the literary magazine Metaphor, the television news program Weber State and the online radio station KWCR.

Facilities and equipment at Weber State University

The university is located on the eastern slope of the Wasatch Mountains in Ogden. The College Athletics Center is 1.6 km from the main campus, and davis, Morgan and Roy counties have additional study areas.

The campus in Ogden covers an area of more than 500 acres, which housed 63 buildings: educational buildings, dormitories, canteens and cafes, laboratories. The Davis campus includes two buildings that host more than 300 classes per semester.

Sports facilities of the institution are a whole complex with gyms, game halls, open areas and a stadium.

The university library provides students with a large number of textbooks, fiction and scientific literature. Computers work in the reading room, with the help of which students have access to electronic databases.

On campus there is a large medical center that provides services of psychological, therapeutic assistance.

Admission dates and extra charges

There are several semesters in the academic year: autumn, spring and summer. In the summer, students of additional courses or those who have debts in the passed disciplines study.

  • Summer semester: April-August
  • Fall Semester: August-December
  • Spring semester: January-April.

Long holidays take place in March, July, October.

To enter Weber State University, an international student should fill out a questionnaire on the institution's website and provide:
