The University of Utah (The U) is the oldest university in Utah, and today it is one of the leading and sought—after educational institutions in the country. It offers several hundred bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

The history of the institution began in 1850, when the University of Deseret was opened. A few decades later, in 1892, it was renamed the University of Utah, despite the fact that the state itself received its name only four years after that. The plan includes a certain number of meals per week, additional dollars for purchases at campus stores.
