University of Westminster

Top 10 most international university in the UK
Address: 309 Regent St, Marylebone, London W1B 2UW, United Kingdom

Description University of Westminster

University of Westminster is considered to be the first polytechnic university in Britain, founded in 1838 and located in the heart of London. The Polytechnic Institute became a university in 1992. Today it is an innovative, modern university, which offers a wide variety of educational programs and specialties, supports the intercultural atmosphere and equality of all students, cosmopolitanism. The total number of students reaches 22,000 people, of which 5,000 are foreign students representing 150 world states. Administration of the University of Westminster is deservedly proud that the university is considered to be one of the most popular among foreign students. It was within the walls of this university that the first paid movie show (the first in Britain!) was held, the first European photo studio was opened.

The University is deservedly proud of the widest list of academic programs, specialties and areas: many of the courses presented have practically no analogues in other universities. It is also worth noting that Westminster University maintains close partnerships with many leading industrial companies, banks and financial organizations, and trade firms: this enables students to pass valuable practice and internship while learning to adapt to the real world market. Very popular and so-called "sandwich courses": in addition to the classical undergraduate program in the chosen direction, they include a one-year paid internship - the graduates become qualified, experienced workers in demand on the world labour market.

The structure of Westminster University includes several campuses:

  • Harrow

One of the most modern buildings in London, an innovative, recently renovated campus. Here are the faculties of design, media and art.

  • Marylebone

The central campus in the heart of London was built in 2010-2012, because it has the most modern architecture and equipment, innovative technical equipment and spacious classrooms. Here students study under the programs of architecture and business.

  • Little Titchfield Street

The recently reconstructed campus includes the largest university library with reading and computer rooms, as well as a huge law faculty.

  • Regent

Located on one of the central streets of London - the prestigious, respectable and lively Regent Street. The campus is distinguished by an excellent large center for students (Student Union), excellent recreation areas and modern computer classes. On this campus there are faculties and departments of social and humanitarian sciences.

Irina, good afternoon! The university has several buildings in London. Some are in the center. In all of London, probably the most central university. There is a separate building for business, architecture, marketing. Located at the Baker Street subway station. Next to the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madame Tyuso. There is also a hostel there. The second building is next to Oxford Street, 15 minutes walk from the above. It is just indicated on the first picture. There is also a student sports hall. The third building is located behind the center, there are also sports fields. In which buildings will be trained you need to watch when you choose items. As for the level of training, it depends on the chosen specialization. In some ways, the university is stronger in something weaker. The university definitely had strong programs, adjacent to the study of languages. For example, Business and Marketing with Learning Spanish. The program includes exchange and training at a foreign university (Spain, Argentina, etc.). After these programs, students can find employment not only in the UK, but also in other countries. If we talk about Top Universities (Top-20), then the university does not apply to them. But nevertheless, in the field of Media and Communication, the University occupies 32 lines out of 100 https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings?s=Communication+%26+Media+Studies Art and Design: 26th place. Architecture: also 26th place. If you are planning to enter after the Russian school, there are programs for preparing for this university. If you are currently studying in the UK and are considering this university, you can consider universities that may be an alternative to Westminster in your chosen specialty.
