The course volume is typically spread over several months.

Foundation Diploma

Foundation diploma programs are designed for students who have completed secondary school and wish to improve their knowledge before entering a bachelor's degree program.

The courses will provide students with effective improvement of English language proficiency, specialized knowledge and practical skills, and will help them adapt to the German education system. They are offered in two specializations:

Foundation Year

The foundation year program is designed for foreign students, offering a smooth adaptation to the German educational system, quality interdisciplinary knowledge, and effective improvement of one of the languages: English or German.
Course options:
- English language with a specialization in economics — 9 months of study, economic and social disciplines,
- German language with a specialization in economics — 9 or 12 months of classes with the study of social and economic sciences,
- German language with a technical specialization — 9 or 12 months of study in technical sciences.
German Language Course
- Age of students — from 18 years old,
- Duration of study — 9 months.
This program is designed for students with a German language proficiency level of A2 or higher who wish to effectively improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a short time, expand their vocabulary, and develop valuable academic skills aligned with the German educational system.
The curriculum is adapted for small groups, in which students are divided by level: from B1 to C1. During the course, students not only develop their language skills but also intensively prepare for the TELC international German language test, which will confirm their new language level and help them enter a university. Upon completing the course, graduates are awarded an internationally recognized certificate.

UE does not have its own living quarters, but thanks to the collaboration with the Edge Student Hub, it offers dozens of options in Berlin and Iserlohn. Students studying in Berlin are accommodated in traditional multi—bed rooms, single studios, apartments - the type of housing is selected according to the student's level of funding and requirements. All rooms are well furnished, connected to high-speed Wi-Fi, provide access to common areas of the complex: kitchens, living rooms, laundry rooms, quiet classrooms for study.
The Edge Student Hub residences located in Iserlohn provide students with double and triple rooms equipped with furniture for each tenant, bathroom, and kitchenette. Common areas include laundry rooms, large kitchen areas, lounge areas for relaxation, and study areas.
Students from campuses in Hamburg and Potsdam usually turn to a specialized department for help in finding suitable housing for them near educational areas.

Facilities and equipment at University of Europe for Applied Sciences
UE has four studying areas in Germany, the largest of which is located in Iserlohn. The historic Hamburg campus building is located just a few minutes from the train station and features impressive cross vaults, a bright courtyard and modern amenities. The infrastructure of the academic site is almost identical to the main UE campuses, including animation and photography studios, various workshops and laboratories, classrooms, recreation areas and self-study.
Admission dates and extra charges
The academic year at UE follows the standard German system and includes two main semesters.:
- Winter: September-February,
- Summer: March-August.
Classes in full—time education programs are organized on weekdays, rest - on weekends, days of national and international holidays. The tuition fee already covers the costs of specialized student support, the use of university technologies, access to online resources, basic academic fees, including fees for exams and dissertation.
