Today, there are (yet) 4 basic rules in the Emirates:
- The university that the student chooses should be among the top 50 leading at the international level, and the institution should occupy this position precisely in the educational profile that interests the student. The rule applies only to universities in the UAE.
- Universities and colleges in the United States and Australia, chosen by a student from the Emirates, must be in the top 100 universities at the international level both in terms of general indicators and in a specific profile.
- Universities in other English-speaking countries should be in the top 200 according to the same criteria, and institutions in non-English-speaking countries should be in the top 300.
The new rules should improve the quality and quantity of qualified personnel in the country and higher education in the world. The country's leadership is confident that the new approach to choosing universities in the UAE and abroad will help students at the early stages to more thoughtfully assess their potential. In addition, the updated system will streamline the algorithm for the appointment and payment of international scholarships, adjust the influx of personnel in accordance with the strategic goals of the Emirates.
