Description of Tokyo Metropolitan University 首都 大学 東京 (TMU)
Tokyo (United) Metropolitan University is considered one of the most prestigious universities in Japan. Tokyo Metropolitan University is located in a specially created area of Bunke, where scientists are engaged in scientific activities, literature and political studies. TMU is a fairly new and young university that was created as a result of the unification of three Tokyo higher educational institutions and a college. The University is among the top ten in Japan (from almost 800 higher educational institutions).

Tokyo Metropolitan University is taught by about a thousand specialists of a wide range, among which are professors, associate professors, candidates of sciences, including international teachers. The number of students varies from 9,500 to 10,000,000 a year. Among the students each year there are about 500 people - citizens of other states, who gave preference to this university.
