Description of SUNY Morrisville State College

SUNY Morrisville State College is the corps of one of the prestigious universities in New York - SUNY (The State University of New York). It is located in the city center and occupies a vast territory with many infrastructure facilities. A distinctive feature and pride of Morrisville State College is the largest multicultural environment. The college offers courses in more than 75 areas. The American university is known for its business programs in:

The college offers more than 50 associate and bachelor's degree programs in various fields: agriculture, technology, business, social sciences, and humanities.

  • Culinary Arts Management (A.A.S.) — combines classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and a summer cooperative internship. The program includes a pathway to a bachelor's degree (B.B.A.) in hospitality management,
  • Residential Construction (A.O.S.) — hands-on skills in construction technologies, engineering systems, plumbing, masonry, and surveying, as well as courses in construction business,
  • Nursing Dual Enrollment (A.A.S./B.S.) — combines an associate degree program and an RN-to-BS pathway: the degree is awarded upon completion of the third year of study and grants eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN exam; the final year is devoted to bachelor's-level courses,
  • Graduate program (online) — Master of Science in «Food and Agribusiness Industry and Project Management»: enrollment is limited to 20 students, the program lasts two years and includes a project or consulting practicum in real-world conditions,
  • International Pathway Program — the first year of a bachelor's program at SUNY Morrisville, followed by continued study there or transfer to another university or college within the SUNY system.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Like other highly ranked US colleges, Morrisville State College offers accommodation in cozy residences.The dormitories are equipped with 1-2-bed rooms. Most of them have amenities. Also in residences it is possible to place in separate rooms in blocks. Here for 3-4 students there is one bathroom, kitchen. In addition, the hostel offers laundry, food (breakfast, board, half board), opportunities for outdoor activities and entertainment (games, film screenings, etc.).

Activities SUNY Morrisville State College

Extra-curricular program of the institution is represented by sports, creative classes in clubs and traditional entertainment (parties, discos, shows, etc.). In addition, students are encouraged to a large number of sightseeing destinations and routes. Most of them are in New York. The Big Apple has something to see.

Morrisville State students can visit the numerous museums of the business center of the world, walk along Broadway and 5th Avenue, admire the monumentality of the Statue of Liberty, the Woolworth Building, etc. Out-of-city excursion fans are offered weekend tours to Washington, Los Angeles, and many other US cities.

Daily routine

Students are offered morning, afternoon classes. In college, studying takes place in a five-day mode.

Facilities and equipment at SUNY Morrisville State College

Morrisville State College has everything to comfortable staying and studying. Educational buildings are equipped with spacious classrooms, laboratories, lecture and conference rooms. Students of all courses, including the preparatory course, are given the opportunity to use the library resources of the State University in New York.

The sports infrastructure is represented by objects for power exercises, team games, open areas, a skating rink. For the creative development of students on campus, all conditions are also created. There is a large number of clubs with interests. Also on the territory there are restaurants, cafes, shops.

Admission dates and extra charges

The college operates on a rolling admissions basis and accepts applications for both fall and spring semesters. The application process requires payment of a registration fee and a deposit.

In the event of voluntary withdrawal during the first four weeks of the semester, a partial refund of tuition, room, and board is provided:

  • Week 1 — 100%,
  • Week 2 — 70%,
  • Week 3 — 50%,
  • Week 4 — 30%,

Starting from week 5, no refund is issued.

Enrolment process

The admission process includes preparing educational documents, confirming English language proficiency (for English-language programs), and submitting an application to the admissions committee.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

To apply through a general application (SUNY Application or Common Application), the following is required:

  • Final school leaving certificate, and for transfer students — a GPA of at least 2.0.

For the Nursing A.A.S. program when applying directly from high school:

  • High school transcript average of at least 80,
  • Biology/Living Environment Regents score of at least 75 (or a course grade without Regents of at least 80 with a laboratory component),
  • Enrollment in MATH 102 «Intermediate Algebra with Trigonometry» (or higher),
  • TEAS exam score of at least 62 (no more than two attempts within 6 months, result valid for 1 year).

For transfer to the Nursing A.A.S. program:

  • GPA of at least 2.75,
  • Successful completion of a biology course with a laboratory component (grade of C or higher),
  • Algebra course (grade of C or higher) or enrollment in MATH 102, TEAS score of at least 62.

For the Nursing B.S. program (after an associate degree in nursing):

  • GPA of at least 2.5.

Transfer credits for transferred courses or courses completed in high school:

  • Grade of "D" or higher (unless a higher grade is required for the major),
  • For Advanced Placement exam credit, a score of at least 3 is required.

For international students applying directly:

  • Application (SUNY Application or Common Application),
  • Additional essay,
  • Secondary education documents: equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma, translated by a certified translator and evaluated by an educational credential evaluation service,
  • Official college transcripts (if applicable),
  • Copy of passport,
  • For non-native English speakers — proof of proficiency: TOEFL (IBT) of 61 or above, TOEFL (PBT) of 500 or above, PTE Academic of 44 or above.

For the International Pathway Program, proof of English language proficiency:

  • TOEFL iBT of 60 or above, 
  • Duolingo English Test of 90 or above,
  • PTE Academic of 43 or above,
  • LanguageCert of 64 or above,
  • Pearson Versant of 50 or above (requirement may be waived upon completion of iGCSE, O-Level, A-Level exams or upon graduation from a school in an English-speaking country).

For master's programs (Food & Agribusiness, Project Management):

  • Bachelor's degree with a GPA of at least 2.8,
  • GRE or GMAT tests are optional (may compensate for a lower GPA),
  • Final transcripts,
  • Resume,
  • A minimum of two letters of recommendation,
  • Essay.

Scholarships SUNY Morrisville State College

  • All students admitted through transfer from another institution are automatically considered for Transfer Scholarships based on academic performance. Additionally, they may apply for the named SUNY Morrisville Foundation Scholarship,
  • Students who already hold an associate degree are guaranteed a scholarship,
  • All incoming freshmen are considered for Mustang Scholarships based on academic performance,
  • SUNY Morrisville graduates continuing their studies in the online Master's program in Food & Agribusiness may receive the Master's for Mustangs Scholarship of $1,500 per year toward tuition.
