Nursery

Junior School

Most often, children from the age of seven are enrolled in this educational stage, but if there are vacancies and academic success of the kids, they can be transferred to a new level from the age of four. During studying, children continue to develop as students and individuals, study subjects from the basic National Curriculum and participate in additional activities, such as science workshops. In extracurricular time, kids learn volunteering, take care of the plants and animals under their care, and play sports.

College

The first educational stage begins at the age of 11 years of the student, and at the age of 16, teenagers move to the Sixth Form. St George's Weybridge can only be admitted to the final classes after passing the entrance exams or GCSE subject exams.

First, teenagers move on to in-depth study of academic subjects, begin to look for a trajectory for future higher education and careers, they attend classes, do homework, and at the same time prepare for GCSE. After successfully passing the tests, students move on to a two-year graduation program: at this stage, they choose for themselves the disciplines that they will take at the A-level exams in order to enter the university of their dreams in the future.

St George's Weybridge is an independent, full-time leading school. It is considered an academically selective, Catholic and Josephite educational institution for children aged 2-18.

St George's Weybridge is considered the only Josephite Catholic school in the United Kingdom, but education is not tied to a specific religion, adherents of any religion, atheists and skeptics can enter the school.

In March 2024, the school successfully passed the ISI independent school inspection.

St George's Value Added is ranked in 2.5% of the UK's top schools, and is included in 5% of UK's outstanding institutions nationwide.

Educational process

Studying at St George's Weybridge is divided into 4 main stages:

  1. Early Years — from 2 to 7 years old,
  2. Upper Years — from 7 to 11 years old,
  3. College — from 11 to 16 years old,
  4. Sixth Form - from 16 to 18 years old.

The emphasis in studying at all levels is made on the relevance and practical orientation of the knowledge and skills that children and adolescents receive. Students develop according to an interdisciplinary approach in order to become versatile personalities who can think critically and are not afraid of responsibility.

Things to know about

  • A student of St George's Weybridge hosts his own podcast Beyond the Book, in which experienced teachers take part: the host, together with guests, discusses and reveals specialized topics from various fields.
  • At the beginning of its work, the school was a boarding school for boys, but since the 1960s, girls have also been allowed to enter there, although at first only in high school. In 1992, the boarding format switched to full-time, and since 1998 the institution has become a co-educational school.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Children and teenagers eat daily on campus: the menu is regularly updated and improved as the administration conducts surveys among parents and older children. The chefs take into account the personal nutritional characteristics of some students, so among the dishes you can find dishes without meat, lactose and gluten.

Activities St George's Weybridge School

During the holidays, students of St George's Weybridge can participate in the Georgian Outreach volunteer program (aka GO!), which implements community projects for schools, farms, churches, homes, environmental organizations in the city and across the country. In addition, students help the African branch fund raise funds for the comfortable life of St Joseph's African Aid students.

In addition to the classical curriculum, schoolchildren can engage in various activities, ranging from sports to journalism. For example, they can join the editorial board of the student magazine Sixth Form Journal Labor Amoris, sign up for a hockey team, take up needlework or gardening.

Several times a year, staff organize thematic events in which children and adolescents of all ages are involved. The most favorite format for students is the Days of Cultural Diversity: at these events, children can get to know other cultures better, try on outfits, taste dishes, learn interesting facts, and try their hand at national dances.

  • 96% — A*–C.

Such successful results allow students to enter the world's best universities and colleges. Graduates often choose such popular areas as international business management, French, law, medicine, biochemistry, and photography.

For those teenagers who cannot independently choose a further educational path, the staff of the career guidance department conducts consultations and tests, specialists draw up the most suitable options for higher educational institutions, where future students can apply for admission. The same department conducts studying seminars for teenagers, for example, on how to fill out the application form correctly.

Scholarships St George's Weybridge School

International students of St George's Weybridge can apply for a scholarship if they have achievements in the academic, sports, drama, music or art fields. Financial support is available only to high school students, but students from the age groups 11+, 13+ and 16+ can receive a 10% discount on tuition fees.
