Dolce Vita Program

Originally created for international students over the age of 50, the program is now available to all students due to the high demand. It offers the study of the Italian language along with a wide range of leisure activities: from wine and cheese tastings to visits to famous museums. The two-week course includes 40 Italian lessons in the mornings and excursions in the afternoon. By developing speaking and listening skills, students will apply them in the process of visiting places such as:

• Egyptian Museum,
• A lesson in the history of the Risorgimento with a visit to the Risorgimento Museum, the Royal Palace,
• Reggia di Venaria, Alba (truffle fair), Asti (Sagre or Palio festival),
• Culinary master class,
• Excursion Torino Magica,
• Automobile Museum,
• A tour of the historic cafes and aperitifs in the Quadrilatero area,
• Exploring Turin: guided city tour,
• Museum of Cinema,
• Wine tasting with a sommelier, chocolate,
• Traditional Piedmontese dinner.

Semester Italian Language Course

• The duration of education is 18 weeks.

The 18-week one-semester program allows students to immerse themselves in uninterrupted learning of the Italian language. Thanks to the time spent in Italy, foreign students improve their conversational level more effectively, gain experience in a language environment and can continue their academic path in one of the country's institutions.

The educational course curriculum includes 380 Italian lessons in small groups. The academic load is distributed in a balanced way: students attend classes on weekdays, participating in four lessons per day. In their free time, they can travel around Italy, visit iconic sights, participate in a variety of activities both in the language center and outside it.

Year Italian Language Course

• The duration of the educational program is 32 weeks.

The one-year Italian language program offers a more relaxed pace of mastering the main aspects of linguistics for those who are just starting to learn the language. Over the course of 32 weeks, students will focus on developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, in and out of the classroom. The curriculum, which includes 480 lessons, provides students with a balance between standard classes at school and gaining real experience during excursions and travels around Italy. In addition to Italian lessons, students study areas such as:

• History of Art,
• History and civilization,
• Business Italian,
• Italian fashion.

Long-term education gives students the opportunity to pass several staged DILI-AIl exams, to obtain a certificate of proficiency in the Italian language.

Giro d’Italia: Touring Italy, learning Italian

• The educational period is from two to five weeks.

This unique course allows students to explore five cities in Italy: Florence, Rome, Milan, Turin and Viareggio, without interrupting their Italian language learning. With five campuses located in these cities, the school provides students with modern conditions for studying, living and leisure while traveling. One week is allotted to explore one city, the minimum period of participation in the program is two weeks.

The curriculum includes 20 weekly lessons with a teacher in small groups, focused on the development of conversational skills, listening skills, reading and writing in Italian. Immersion in the language environment, a variety of excursions and sightseeing help students to assimilate the learning material more effectively and communicate more confidently in Italian.

Italian Language and Culture

• Language level – from B1,
• Start dates are every Monday,
• The duration of education is from one week.

This course, designed for students with a reasonably good level of Italian, offers intensive improvement of language skills and the study of the culture, history, economy and society of Italy.

The pupils' timetable includes 20 Italian lessons and five social studies lessons per week. In addition, students attend a single class on a wide range of topics that touch on the country's political situation, economics, and social sciences.

Art History Course

Studying art history in Turin has many advantages: the city has Roman origins, is the capital of Baroque and Liberty styles, and serves as one of the most important design centers. It houses many prestigious museums of modern art, thanks to which students will be able to explore art not only in theory, but also visually.

The art history course aims to showcase, through video projections, analytical reviews and guided tours, the development of art in Italy, with a particular focus on its decline in Piedmont. Students will participate in two lesson formats:

• Theoretical, in the classroom, are devoted to acquaintance with the history of Italy and the history of art. Particular attention is paid to the artistic periods associated with Turin,
• Outdoor classes are held at the end of the course, aimed at deepening those topics that students liked the most, visiting the artistic monuments of the city.

Examples of thematic areas of the course:

• A trip to Ancient Egypt is a study of the main features of Egyptian civilization: hieroglyphs, deities, funeral rites, pyramids, artistic artifacts that have survived to this day. Guided tour of the Egyptian Museum of Turin, whose collections date back to 1760,
• Daily life during the Roman Empire – excursions to the Museum of Antiquities and the archaeological area of Turin with a view of artifacts,
• The Middle Ages in Turin are characteristic features of everyday life through its more specific aspects: cities, castles and abbeys to discover the types of buildings, characters and way of life,
• Baroque Turin – visit the Royal Palace and the beautiful Baroque churches of Turin,
• The Risorgimento in Turin is the history of the unification of Italy. Visit to the Risorgimento Museum, historic cafés and palaces of the Savoy dynasty,
• Turin Art Nouveau style,
• Modern Turin.

Preparation Courses for the AIL Italian Language Exam

• The educational period is four weeks.

Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci Torino is accredited to administer the Italian language exam – Firenze AIL. Depending on what level of language skills the student has, the course that is suitable for him is determined.

The curriculum includes weekly 20 General Italian lessons focused on improving reading, speaking, writing and listening skills. In addition, there are two classes in small groups, during which students will focus on specialized preparation: exercises on tests of previous years, study of the exam system and assessment.

The exam implies certification at each language level: from A2 to C2. Upon successful passing of the test, the student receives a diploma, then can continue to improve his level and prepare for further examination stages.
