Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Croatia is the campus of the famous Rocherter Institute of Technology, located in two cities of Croatia: dubrovnik and Zagreb.

The institution in Croatia was founded in 1997 as the American College of Management and Technology at the request of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. In those years, it was decided to open the first private universities, which ACMT became. Due to its reputation and international partnerships, the Rochester Institute of Technology was chosen as the head, and therefore in 2013 the Croatian campus changed its name to RIT Croatia.

More than 850 students from different countries study in the two territories. Training takes place in bachelor's and master's programs, a variety of courses. Students of the institution have a unique opportunity to receive two diplomas: American and Croatian, since RIT Croatia is the only university in Croatia that issues these two bachelor's degrees.

Educational process

  • Study in both campus and virtual classrooms

The institution has almost 40 years of distance learning experience, so its infrastructure and online tools are well aligned and ready to use. Although the online environment offers a different experience of studying the program (compared to classical methods of communication with teachers and colleagues), RIT Croatia students regularly use online learning tools even on campus. In addition to the online platform and the myCourses system, students use the Wallace Online Library. Currently, the popularity of using applications for calls: Zoom and Blue Jeans is growing.

  • Semester at RIT's main campus in New York or Dubai

Students have the opportunity to visit other RIT campuses for one semester. This option of studying abroad allows students to get to know different cultures and improve their English language skills. Most importantly, this experience will be a good advantage when hiring, strong networking.

  • Up to 800 hours of mandatory internship during study

In RIT, special attention is paid to practical skills, so all students are required to train in accordance with their direction.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The institute's dormitories in Dubrovnik and Zagreb are small, so not all students will be able to get a place to stay. The staff at RIT Croatia will help students find a room, flat or apartment to rent if necessary.

  • The residential building in Zagreb is equipped with single and double rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You can rent a place for accommodation for 4 or 8 months. Monthly accommodation fee ranges from 52 to 95.
  • Dubrovnik offers rooms of different capacities and apartments at a price of about 150 , including fees.

Many students are members of the Student Government group, which works to comprehensively improve campus life. Their responsibilities include organizing events, communicating with staff and management of the institute, budgeting and paying funds to students for projects and assistance, monitoring exchange programs and study opportunities abroad, and much more.

Facilities and equipment at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Croatia

RIT Croatia has campuses in two cities of Croatia, students have the opportunity to choose the environment in which they would like to study:

  • Dubrovnik is a world-famous tourist destination and a historic city located on the Adriatic coast,
  • Zagreb is the capital and business center of Croatia.

The campuses are equipped with modern technology and offer rooms for multimedia conferences and lectures, computer classes, libraries with reading rooms, lounge areas for communication.

All classrooms and computer labs are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Apple and Lenovo computers and tablets. Students have access to the online system RIT myCourses, which allows them to communicate with classmates and teachers, view recordings of lectures and research papers, study educational materials remotely. Multimedia classrooms have equipment with the highest sound quality and high-definition video production.

Sports and gyms in Zagreb covers an area of more than 250 square meters. m., on the street territory there are open-type playgrounds. On the dubrovnik campus there are several halls with simulators, areas for team games, yoga and athletics.

Students have access to the Wallace Library, which houses more than 100,000 electronic journals, about 550,000 books and 220 databases.

Admission dates and extra charges

The academic year lasts 30 weeks: during this time there are several semesters, summer and winter holidays, weekends in honor of the holidays.

About 2800 graduates have completed bachelor's and master's degree programs on campuses in Dubrovnik and Zagreb, of which 87% found a job or continued their education within six months of graduation. Most of the former students of RIT Croatia work in Croatia, many are building careers in other countries: Denmark, France, Hungary, Montenegro, Germany, the USA and the UK.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Foreign applicants must provide a number of documents:

  • Completed application,
  • Color photo 35х45 mm,
  • Personal documents: a valid passport and its copy in English, certified by a notary, student residence permit and medical insurance,
  • Application for accommodation on campus or a document on the reservation of accommodation,
  • Confirmation of the availability of sufficient financial security,
  • Certificate of completion of the previous stage of study with a transcript,
  • English language test results: TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, Duolingo or others. The level of knowledge should not be lower than B2.

You can apply until January 15 - then the applicant can be given a discount on tuition fees. Applications are accepted during the winter months.

Scholarships Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Croatia

The Financial Aid Fund provides payments of between €1,000 and €10,000 annually. The amount awarded reduces the annual tuition fee or is divided by four years of study, covering up to 40% of the cost. Financial aid is provided to students with a low average monthly income in the family.

Unlike financial aid, scholarships are grants solely based on previous academic achievements or successes achieved in competitions. More than 80% of students receive some kind of payment, maintaining their motivation in studying and financial stability.
