Accommodation, meals, prices

The Pratt Institute summer camp grounds feature apartments with two or three bedrooms and bathrooms. Each residential building has a laundry room with free washing machines and dryers.

When groups of campers go on weekend excursions, they are accommodated in comfortable mid-range hotels with a wide range of services. Examples of hotels include Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn, or similar hotels located in the city or its surroundings. Hotel rooms typically feature double or full-size beds. Student rooms are doubles, with 4 people per apartment; group leaders live in a room with another adult mentor of the same gender.

The camp dining hall offers a long list of dishes to suit every taste: from fresh salads and international cuisine to traditional American food. All meals are served in spacious dining rooms.

Despite the fact that the camp provides campers with almost everything they need for a comfortable stay abroad, some things must be brought from home:

  • comfortable shoes for walking,
  • clothing for any weather: from swimwear to raincoats and hoodies,
  • sunscreen,
  • toiletries (in extreme cases, they can be purchased on site),
  • glasses, contact lenses, and the necessary amount of prescription medication if needed by the student,
  • a portable charger,
  • a power adapter,
  • several hangers for clothes if there are items in your luggage that need to be hung (there are no hangers in the apartments),
  • beach towel and pool towel,
  • notebook, pens and pencils,
  • cash for pocket money.

The list of things not to bring includes:

  • valuable items, expensive jewelry,
  • bedding,
  • large bath towels,
  • large sums of cash.

Foreign students can purchase an American SIM card for their phone as soon as they check into the camp — this will help students stay connected. Additionally, Wi-Fi access is available on campus and in many public places.
