Léman Manhattan Preparatory School is a state-of-the-art American school in the heart of New York City and offers education to children from age 3. Until 2011, the school offered only Preparatory School programs. Today, LMPS is part of the international organization Meritas and provides a full range of educational services. The school is proud of its students' academic preparation. Its first graduates in 2013 entered leading universities in Pennsylvania, Washington, and other regions.

The school does not have a century-old institutional history, which gives it flexibility to adopt innovations. It combines fundamental learning with practical preparation for today's dynamic world.

Léman Manhattan's approach to globally minded education is inspired by its sister school, Collège du Léman, which was founded in 1960 in Versoix, Switzerland. Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, the sister school enrolls nearly 2,000 students from 100 nationalities.

Léman Manhattan was one of the first ongoing independent schools to serve Lower Manhattan and now brings together students representing more than 130 nationalities. Foreign students at Léman Manhattan Preparatory School live on a full-board basis. The residence is a few blocks from the academic campus and across from the New York Stock Exchange and Federal Hall. Students can easily reach many of the city's attractions.

Students stay in comfortable one-, two-, or three-bed apartments with modern interiors. Each suite has a kitchen, bathroom, study area, Wi-Fi, and a high-tech security system. Boarding includes concierge laundry and cleaning services as well as three chef-prepared meals a day. Experienced Residential Counselors live on the same floor and care for students. The building has a staffed lobby and surveillance around the clock.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the school cafeteria, and students can choose from an international menu. Boarding is available from Grade 9. Younger students must live with parents or relatives.

At the beginning of the school year, boarding students attend classes designed to help them become safe and capable residents of New York City. Students must check out with staff when leaving the residence and carry their school-provided cell phones whenever they are out of school.

Léman's athletic program includes 45 competitive teams for students from Early Childhood through Upper School. It aims to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and support lifelong health and wellness.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is open to participants aged 14-24. The program covers four areas: Service, Skills, Physical Recreation, and Adventurous Journey.
