Foundation Degree

  • Age – from 18 years old,

The preparatory program is focused on helping students find a creative direction for further academic development at the undergraduate level. Over the course of nine months, students will explore their interests, unleash their creativity by attending lectures, workshops, and practical classes in studios. The course will include the following subject modules:

The educational process consists of three academic levels, each of which consists of 120 credits. Most modules are valued at 20 credits, which is 10 teaching hours per week for each subject.

Upon successful completion of the one-year course, students will be able to move on to studying in one of the areas of the bachelor's degree.

Short Courses

Short-term courses are an effective study of the chosen creative field, the acquisition of applied skills, and the development of career opportunities. The duration of the programs ranges from three to nine months, and the weekly schedule will include at least one in-person class attendance per week. Facilities and equipment at Point Blank Music School

The study area in London covers two campuses located in the Hoxton area. Point Blank Music School's academic facilities have tripled in size in recent years, offering more spaces, studios, and interactive learning resources in 30,000 square feet. With a new center and performance area, Dolby Atmos recording studios and high-tech DJ/production studios, this state-of-the-art space will allow students to achieve creative success. Some of the educational facilities on the London campus are:

  • Performance Centre, Bar Area – Students can relax during the day, meet friends, have a drink or have a snack. In the evenings, the Hub transforms into a venue for live events and a club space, hosting student performances and workshops from industry experts.
  • Engineer Sound Studios are two classes of sound engineering that are equipped with SSL Duality Delta and SSL Origin mixing consoles. Each room is equipped with Pro Tools HD, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology, Focusrite Rednet, and a wide range of high-quality equipment, including microphones, attachments, and instruments.
  • Music Production Studios – Six new studios, each featuring 16 dedicated workstations with state-of-the-art hardware and software used by professional producers across the industry, including Mac computers, MIDI keyboards, Push/Maschine controllers, high-quality sound cards, and the best DAWs (Ableton Live, Logic Pro). This allows students to work independently with their own equipment rather than sharing with others, which is common in other music production institutions.
  • DJ Studios – Developed in conjunction with Pioneer, these studios are equipped with the latest standard DJ equipment, including Pioneer CDJs, DJ mixers, effects units and headphones. The workstations are designed to replicate the experience of performing in a real DJ booth, allowing students to gain hands-on experience, develop their skills and knowledge with the help of various kits used by professional DJs around the world. The workstations are equipped with advanced DJ and production software, including Ableton Live, Beatport/Beatsource, Logic Pro, Neural Mix Pro, Mixed In Key, Rekordbox, Serato, and Traktor Pro, allowing students to analyze, control, stream, mix, and record music.
  • Vocal Performance Studios – At both ends of the Hub area, you can find two dedicated singing studios designed to enhance vocal preparation for real-world performances. Each room is equipped with its own PA system, a unique backstage section installation.
  • Project Studios, Vocal Booths – 9 rooms for music projects and 4 vocal booths that will be available for student reservations seven days a week. This ensures that students have enough time and space to work on their projects, collaborate with colleagues, and develop their skills. Each rehearsal room is equipped with Mac computers, Universal Apollo sound cards, Roland drum machines, Push 3 and NI Maschine controllers, various synthesizers, and more.

The Point Blank academic site in Los Angeles includes many specialized rooms with high-tech equipment: Apple iMac M1 computers equipped with software, Ableton Live 11 Suite, Apple Logic Pro, Avid Pro Tools, Roland Cloud, Roland TR-6S, Ableton Push 2, Novation Launchpad & Launchkey, Focusrite Scarlett interfaces, Native Instruments Komplete 13 sound library, Audio-Technica headphones and much more. The large sound engineering studio boasts a new 32-channel SSL Origin mixing console connected to a live drum recording room and full band setup. The Pioneer-sponsored DJ studio is equipped with the best of Pioneer equipment, including the CDJ-3000, DJM-V10, CDJ-2000NXS2, DJM-900NXS2, XDJ-XZ, RMX-1000 and many more. The Los Angeles campus is on par with the quality of the main learning area in London.

In 2017, Point Blank Music School opened an academic venue on the paradise island of Ibiza, a place that is considered the most active in the field of electronic music creation. The school is based in the equipped Institut d'Educació Secundària Isidor Macabich, located in the heart of Ibiza and surrounded by the legendary Bora Bora and Ushuaia clubs in Playa D'en Bossa. The campus is equipped with a variety of studios: sound recording, music production, vocals, DJ and rooms for other specializations.

Admission dates and extra charges

Campuses are open almost all year round, excluding international and national holidays. With the facilities available seven days a week, international students can practice their specialization not only during lessons, but also in their free time. Programs provide for several semesters depending on the start date: October, January or April; The schedule will include from two days of attending classes, many hours of independent practice and work under the guidance of teachers in an individual format.
