Lunch in the modern NGHS canteen is a special experience: here all meals are prepared on site by a highly qualified team of dedicated chefs. Girls have the opportunity to choose from a diverse range of dishes, including two halal and two non-halal options each week. NGHS is convinced that a complete and balanced hot meal helps to increase the concentration of girls and, therefore, has a positive effect on the learning process in the afternoon. Lunches for younger students are included in the total cost of tuition. The school has a nut-free policy, tries to avoid artificial colors and preservatives, and is happy to accommodate a variety of dietary needs such as vegetarian, vegan, religious restrictions, celiac disease/gluten-free diet, and food allergies.

NGHS provides a network of school buses that schedule trips to various areas of Nottinghamshire and neighbouring counties; For older girls, all local city and suburban bus routes are available. The school also has its own tram stop, providing quick and easy access to the city centre and the train station.

Nottingham Girls' High School began in Victorian homes, but has grown significantly over time. Today, the school actively invests in information technology and learning: international students from the fourth grade and older are provided with personal iPads, younger students work with iPad equipment in classrooms. Interactive whiteboards with Google Classroom, digital equipment for use in the educational process, cameras and microscopes are installed in the classrooms. Classrooms and even canteens have recently been renovated and equipped with modern equipment, including a 3D printer.

The Squire Performing Arts Centre is actively used for theatrical and musical performances: the school promotes the development of students interested in various aspects of art and drama, ranging from music to lighting, sound and costumes. The Squire Centre includes a department for primary school students with modern classrooms, a kitchen area, a shop, a garden and a playground.

The school has two libraries - one for high school, the other for juniors, a lecture hall, a drama studio, a music building, a dining room and recreation rooms for students of different ages. Primary and Junior Schools are located on the same campus on Balmoral Road.

There are sports fields, a gym and a newly renovated sports center built in 1875, including a gym, a fitness studio and a modern fitness center. There is an outdoor learning area with climbing facilities, and Upnah Wood has outdoor activities such as low rope crossings and a campfire site.

The academic year at Nottingham Girls' High School is organised in such a way as to maintain a balance between study and leisure. The year lasts 10 months, starting in September and ending in June (in rare cases - early July), divided into autumn, spring and summer trimesters. The longest holidays are summer, lasting about 2 months.

Comprehensive support is provided in applying to the university, instructive classes are held on admission to universities, choosing a specialty.

Admission is carried out through an entrance exam and an interview with the principal, heads of junior, high schools or Sixth Form (depending on the age of the candidate). The entrance exam is designed to determine the learning abilities of girls: girls will take tests in English and mathematics, will pass an online assessment of cognitive abilities.
