Newbattle Abbey College is one of Scotland's smallest colleges, offering study programs for students and language courses for the holidays and short-term programs for the weekend, as well as adults who decide to return to school. The college has the ability to provide full board, various types of boarding and daytime programs. Newbattle Abbey creates a supportive environment, provides a convenient place to study, offers adults of all ages the opportunity to enjoy high-quality instruction in a historic place. Most students of academic programs over 18 years old are adults who return to education.
The college is located on 125 acres of beautiful parks and ancient forests near Edinburgh. The historic 16th-century building and tranquil location make Newbattle a unique place to study and plan for the future.
A program with learning English for adolescents 12-17 years old with a level of English proficiency from primary and higher. The course allows you to master the language for everyday communication, expand the vocabulary, get to know Edinburgh, nearby Scottish towns and villages. Students practice the language in the morning in the classroom, during activities in the camp (dancing, music, sports) and excursions 4 times a week and 1 full day on weekends.
The course is aimed at children from 8 to 11 years old. Starting level of English - any. The schedule includes 15 hours of language classes per week, 1 full day of excursions and 4 half-day explorations of Edinburgh and its environs. Language classes are focused on the development of spoken English, the expansion of the vocabulary. Additional activities include 8 classes lasting 45 minutes: sports, music, dancing, DIY crafts.
Pupils will visit Glasgow, St Andrews University, Loch Ness Lake.
Students will master English in interiors as close as possible to the world created by J.K. Rowling: an ancient castle, library and crypt. In the morning, students will learn English during traditional classes, after lunch they will have an excursion to the places where the novel was created, including a visit to a cafe in Edinburgh, where JK Rowling created several episodes of Harry Potter. In the evening, students are waiting for activity on the campus: a quiz based on the novel, treasure hunting, competitions for the School Cup.
The program combines the study of English and topics related to the history of Scotland: local clans, various patterns of kilts and other symbols that illustrate the country's past. After completing lessons in the morning, participants in the course visit Royal Mile, Stirling Castle, Edinburgh Dungeons. In the evening, themed events are held on campus: Irish dancing, treasure hunts, quizzes.
A two-day practical course of beekeeping for adults in natural conditions at a real apiary in June. You will spend a rich weekend at the estate, learn a lot about beekeeping, yourself will work with beehives and honeycombs. This is a full weekend with practical sessions on breeding and keeping bees.

Summer language courses start at the end of June, new groups start every week until the end of the first ten days of August.
